But that's just not true. At all. He didn't score the most open play goals or the most goals in general. And maybe he was never the penalty kick taker because he was shit at them in training and would have just missed them. It's not necessarily a badge of honour, maybe it's actually a weakness. If he had been a great penalty taker, maybe he'd be closer to Shearer's record in the premier league.

If Zidane's more interested in your "Scholes stories", than he is in you, it speaks volumes. Zidane and Henry both say he's the best player they've ever come up against. Ronaldo and Tevez both say he's the best midfielder they've ever played with. Fabregas said Scholes' level was the level he aspired to. Let's not forget that Capello even tried to get Scholes to come out of international retirement in 2012 for the South African world cup, Scholes refused because he thought it would be unfair to take the place of someone who'd worked hard all season to win their place in the squad. You can't ignore all this, the man was heinous with a football, his passing seemed to get more accurate the further he had to hit it, he was unbelievable

you were either sarcastic or you know nothing about football, ive watched nearly every game that Paul scholes played in, he stood out in a team of properly good players

another side that most people overlook on Scholes is his consistency. watching him played for most of his career, Scholes mostly performed at a high level. rarely he has a bad game. this takes a lot of concentration and effort.

I remember him missing so many more chances than he scored. If he wasn't in such a creative side I think he wouldn't have scored as many. Nunez seems to be the same at Liverpool. 20 chances before he finds the net.

De Bruyne has a highly respectable six PL titles. Scholes has eleven. De Bruyne isn't getting there. De Bruyne is insanely good (he wasn't yesterday, though lol). Seriously, though. I think De Bruyne is one of the best footballers of the modern generation. However, Scholes was far more instrumental to United for a longer period. The man retired and had to be brought back to win one more title. De Bruyne is getting taken of 50mins into an FA Cup final. City are winning titles, whether he plays or not. As great as the United sides were. Scholes was the one ever present. With Cantona, Scholes was there. With Keane, Scholes was there. With Van Nistelrooy, Scholes was there. With CR7, Scholes was there and with RVP...yep, Scholes was there as well. Put more respect on his name. Do your Googles, son.
