That’s because it quite literally is their job. While I agree with you that skateboarding is meant to be fun and self expression is key pros are put on a pedi stool. Their sponsors ask thing of them and they have to perform to stay relevant and stay pro making money doing what they love. I’m sure there’s a lot of stress involved behind the scenes that we don’t get to see. I think this goes for every sport extreme or not. It may be fun but to compete at a level that earns you a living is not an easy task.

It is not just the unusual weird kind of 'tricks', which are mostly (front foot) impossibles, old school kickflips, basic grinds, easy transition tricks or his freestyle clownery. He is a clown because he wants to be special, without bringing anything new to the table. The Problem is he repeats his tricks so often, that you barely see something out of the ordinary from him, expanding his comfort zone. Instead of improving he just wants to stand out, that is why people make fun of him and cant take him serious as a Pro. He stagnates instead of overcoming his limits, which is what skateboarding is actually is about. Just being consistent at what you're good at is not enough for being a Pro. Rodney Mullen or Chris Haslam always pushed their boundries, although they have an extraordinary way to express themselves on a skateboard. And of course having fun is cool, but a Pro Skater does not get paid just for having fun. And that is why Anderson is not respected. The only Andersons who deserve respect for their professional Career are Kenny and Brians Anderson. Sorry but Andy has still has to earn his laurels.
