“I don’t draw good, I draw cartoons” I felt that.
@MarkFilipAnthony
4 жыл бұрын
Drawing isnt about style or accuracy, is about intended expression So if ur able to make cartoons with specific intended characteristics through shapes, movement and emotions: ur good at drawing. No u might not be good at drawing life-like, photgraphic or mimicing natural light, but that is just another drawing style. Like a guitar player sux at piano, but is really good at playing the guitar. So u are a good artist, in your own artform which in this case is the cartoon-style. Others really suck at that, and is "only" able to draw photgraphic and anathomical correct drawings, but that doesnt make them good cartoonist does it? So dont worry. Just be confident to be good at what u do best, rather than worrying about that ur not talented in something somebody else does best. Most if us cant be the best in everything anyway

I use medibang because its the program I use on my computer to do all my art, but I love it more because of its cloud. I can start a drawing when I'm out with my tablet, save it into the cloud and continue it at home; that's why it's my go-to app/program. I wanted to give sketchbook a chance, but the mandatory sign-in was a turn off for me. I don't always have a connection on my tablet when I'm out, so I can't do any work on it.

I've been using pics art drawing tool and it feels like I've been living under a rock. I started using sketchbook and so far so good and better.
Fun fact, I was the one who pushed the Artflow developer to add customizable pressure sensitivity to size, opacity and flow settings of the brushes (instead of one-for-all sensitivity setting). Last time I checked, it was developed by a single person. It's a very nice app, and if I still had an Android tablet, I'd definitely use it as my main app.

Been using Infinite painter for 3 years now, and it has great features, and developer (Sean) is super aproachable and eager to listen if you have some problems with the app. We had a great little community when the discussion for Infinite Painter was on Google + before they shut it down :( Anyways, if you dig a little deeper it has some amazing options: great selection tools, great perspective tools, color adjusting tools and filters with very advanced means of application (i will just say for example : adjustable bokeh with lets say... adjustable tilt shift focus - havent seen something like that even in photoshop). Also brush engine is just something else compared to other programs and i like that out-of-the-box every brush can be used as a blender.

Great list. I do wish these phone apps would make a pen tool similar to that of Adobe Illustrator. Having the ability to create and edit anchor points is a must for me.
Another great video as usual! I would love to see a new video with the android apps for artists and it would be cool if you include apps for sculpting, a pure ref type of app if there is one for Android etc. Thanks for being the only one that makes videos like this one!
I love your videos Brad. I am new to drawing and art, and my channel is only small now, but I really feel like your videos are helping me grow. I'm sure you know, but your videos are fun, to the point, very informative and an absolute pleasure to watch. Keep up the great work, hopefully I'll be as good as you at drawing and making videos one day! Thanks for your effort 👌 😃
I personally love Ibis paint X I'm already used to all the features Ibis has making it hard to use other software's, I'm on mobile so a few softwares aren't available. The brushes are customizable and it kinda free
Unfortunately Artflow doesn't have perspective modes 😧 it's what got me hooked into Infinite Painter, having the most easy settings for perspectives. It has an amazing array of customization for layer blending though (the extra "effects" tab no other apps had).
For me, I always come back to Infinite Painter. The brush engine just completes me 🙂
Thank you so much for this. Just picked up my s6 lite based on your review and I'm really enjoying artflow. I'm used to photoshop and my Wacom bamboo, but I'm having so much more fun with this s6. Always hated that pc drawing tablet disconnect. Thanks again!
@Brad, one big difference between all the tools you presented and Concepts, is that Concepts is not raster, but a vector tool that has instantly renders the brushes to the required raster-style to look like a raster, but you can scale to the level you want without losing resoltion.

On Art flow, if you double tap on the screen, it will re-adjust the drawing to its original spot. I also have realized if you take you stylus along the left side, you can easily control the thickness of your brush size. Personally, I use art flow on my amazon kindle fire, and the main downside is that it won't let me rotate my canvas and it don't let me use the paint bucket (and yes, my lines have been fully closed). For Xmas, I asked my parents for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite tablet so I can get apps that work better. In the past, I have used ibis paint X and it has been amazing. I just really wish with art flow I was able to rotate my canvas and fill in shapes quicker and easier. If anyone has any tips, that would help me a lot.
You need to stop picking online fights with cat food companies that carve life-sized statues of Richard Simmons, Brad
IbisPaint is my favourite yet. It's the first I once got i think and it's still the best for me. There is a premium membership that gives you additional premium... backgrounds and filters, but you can get along really good without it.
I use ibispaint but I clicked on this video to check out other options as I'm looking to get a drawing tablet for Christmas and want to see the ones artist recommend
You can add pictures on I ibis is when you click on' Layers' and to the left you can see a camera on the bottom ,you click it and you can add your picture. Have a great day keep up the good work!
seeing artflow get attention for once makes me really happy :)

Nice list! Always cool to see more options for creative apps on Android :) I love Concepts for sketching on the iPad (I choose Procreate or Affinity for any polished work, but I love that Concepts is all vector for quickly trying stuff) It's actually quite easy to tweak the "streamlining/stabilisation" on the brushes... I see you had it at 0% while you complained about that but you can change it to whatever you want tapping on the squiggly line in the center left of the toolbar! I agree on the color picker... As cool as it looks I would love to have a more traditional option... Just as normal nodes for modifying the lines instead of their pushy thingy

I am otherwise totally happy with the tablet, however i don't know how good it really is as a graphic tablet if this can't be fixed... does anyone have a tip for me? :)
I draw pixel art on my Android tablet using the free app Pixely. I love this app because of all the profesional features such as transparent layers, select tools with copy and paste, sprite animation with sprite sheet export, real time image tiling and reference images.
Thx, this helped me make my decision on what to puchase. Needed something for my note 10 plus as well.👍

I've tried most of the apps and have stayed with ibisPaintX for many years. In my opinion there is nothing better. I use it to draw on the Galaxy Note 4, or more recently, on the Galaxy Note 10 Plus.
Thank you. Seriously and sarcastically. Sarcastically, because you've done SO many videos that, even speeding you up to 1.5x, still gonna take me the whole weekend to go through all that I NEED to see, and I enjoy your YT style and there's always something I learn even with products that I'll probably never use. Looking at you, "Apple" (pronounced with such disdain I that it sounds more like an obscenity. That said, I never got why people have to put a tool down just because. And I'm old enough to remember and used aldus and macromedia and...Bob. What especially thank you for with this rundown of apps is... Superbrush. Ever since I first used a remote desktop app 20 years ago and in recent years the advent of so many tablets and convertibles with digitizers and pressure sensitive styluses... it's always apparently been too much to ask to have passthrough of pressure data. At least on windows. (And yeah, I get that's a lot of data and I'm definitely niche. And the irony is I have a note 10 lite, and a Chromebook tablet and a Chromebook convertible with USI support and can't draw to save my life. lol So bad, that I used to use Illustrator to do sketches, because it was that much quicker for me to convey an idea.L Just wanted to say thank you cuz I had no idea that something like superbrush even existed and chances are I never would have known without hearing it from you. Sorry for the rambling. (Contemplating redacting everything and just saying "Thanks, have a good day" but... lol) I'm just glad when something I subscribed to your channel a month or so ago because of some video or else I probably wouldn't ever remembered. Thank you so much for this list 🙏🏿
what stylus does he use on his tab? because that doesn't look like an s-pen at all. Is that stylus better than tab s7 s-pen?
How to import your sketch: go to layers and press the camera button and you need a picture of your sketch beforehand but pick your sketch and boom you're done.
I tried concepts, i absolutely love it, but there are some features that are misaing, like some layer controls, like alpha lock, transparecny and ohter, i love the "stabilization" of this app It kinda snaps while you draw, and yhat very satisfying, the color picker wheel for me is good, because the colors are great, and they're markers color ( tell me if im wrong) But i need the layers options and more brushes
Ibis Paint X is my best artist app ever since the update, Oh the endless brush for me to draw my character
What is the stylus you're using in the video?
"super brush" is now changed his name to "super display"
I have been using Artflow for years. The undo and redo buttons can be mapped to the corners of the screen, so tapping the top left corner is undo and bottom left corner is redo. I believe it's the Input setting called Active Edge. I don't know why there's no good how to guide for this app, but I remember in a previous version it let you decide what each corner did. I am looking for other android art programs because I just got an S7+ and am overwhelmed with the screen real estate (upgraded from a Galaxy Tab A 9.7 from 2015). The palm rejection on this with Artflow is so finicky that after I tap undo, or if I pick up my hand to move the canvas or adjust the zoom or angle, it will often reset the view when I put my hand back down, which gets increasingly irritating when I am trying to work on something and have to keep setting the screen to the place I was working on. I am going to try a couple of the others you mentioned in the top 5 list, because they sound really good, but if what you say is true, I will probably end up coming back to Artflow anyway. Maybe I'll just get one of those graphics monitor gloves... Thank you for this list!
on concepts, there is litteraly a setting to "straighten" the lines and get rid of the micros movements :)
dude, can you review the new Huawei matepad?
I love use ibis paint x ❤😍
Good List/collection of android drawing apps. I use sketchbook and artflow for architectural sketching. ✌🏻
For ibis you need to go to layers and you can find camera it gives option to import image
Concepts is an odd app. I personally like it and intend to move to it once I have gotten a little better. But my main interest is also concept art / architectural sketching which is where Concepts really shines. As for your issues, there's the feature in the middle of the colour wheel where you can decie amount of line smoothing. And concepts has the ability to buy everything seperately, though you are missing some sync features and will be paying about 1.5x the yearly cost if you want to unlock everything.
I'm glad I saw the potential in artflow back when it was new and purchased it. I'm proud to say that it is my number 1 drawing app along with sketchbook. It's almost as great for sketching as procreate in my opinion
