Can you give any explanation why I can see my wife’s vehicle when I connect my iPhone to Settings/General/CarPlay but cannot even see my 2016 Mercedes GLA45 AMG when I connect my iPhone to my Comand Online Head unit?

I did the same, i bought a second hand iPhone 11 for €250,-! Mercedes benz in Holland charges for the firmware update only is €700,- but Apple CarPlay is like a blessing it works so good! So the cost that i Made was €25,- for the plug and €250,- for the iPhone 11 so is saved a lot of money! Thanks for the video mate

Good day bud, my vin decoder said the following. AUDIO 20 RADIO NOT NAVIGATION-CAPABLE NTG5/NTG5.5 . It also has the dual usb with the one marked with a phone/tablet. Would this be able to activate Android Auto/Apple carplay? Its a B200

Answer is no, you may need to change the screen to 3rd party products.

@manisureal the rui setting is not get saved .. it's automatically getting back to OFF status

Thanks for the video. Using tmyou other video, used the tool and activated Carplay and A Auto. But outs like you said A Auto doesn't do anything and now I can see why.

Does the cable got to be original apple cable? Have u tested on after market cables?

Original is preferred as the aftermarket ones can sometimes be incompatible due to different types of cable version so the hardware doesn't pick it up. Some aftermarket ones worked and some temporarily and others didn't at all.

I have the same issue. I've used a obd dongle to enable carplay and android auto but only carplay will work. So If I apply a dealer firmwire update, will I lose Apple car play as the obd dongle way to enable has been patched?

Yes, because the latest firmware from Mercedes have patched this method of activation which means the only way to activate it thereafter is through Mercedes at a cost of 500GBP/$650+. In my opinion it's not worth it. Unless you can find someone else who might have a custom firmware and are able to update it through that but that won't be someone specialized in Mercedes and carries other risks.

Can you check my Vin, my activator doesn't seem to work I have both USB's vin says build/delivery was 05/16

@@ManiSuReal Tried two of these without luck. Display screen shows Diagnosis not DIAG. and after rebooting nothing changes. I cannot find an obd2 that operates on an AMG. Any suggestions ?

Can you use an iPhone for carplay and the android for Bluetooth phone calls at the same time?

If a phone call comes through and its your Android connected to your car Bluetooth then it stop the apple carplay and says call connected through bluetooth until you hang up the call. It be the same if someone called your iphone, you will only see the call active in the carplay.

@@d5mys87 Hey two things are possible. One is that your software version of the audio system on the car had dated software where this might have been an issue in the past. Two, it could be your iphone IOS version. Maybe try resetting your iphone and then try again.

There is a simple way to see if carplay and android car works. The Audio 20 with black buttons (hazzard) can't if they are Silver it has no problem

Is that true. I have a 56 plate registered in January but it has the silver buttons on the audio 20. Will the obd module update so android auto works?
