Guitar: 1864 Antonio de Torres (tinyurl.com/y3zncrwu)
Here's "Numen", the first movement of Andrew York's "Numen Suite", played by the composer on a fantastic and original Antonio de Torres classical guitar made in 1864 with spruce top and CSA rosewood back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.
Huge thanks to the folks at Apogee Electronics (ApogeeDigital.com) for the use of their Ensemble interface in these recordings.

Andrew York is one of the best. He doesn't have to be flashy and play 100 mph. His music is pure emotion. The rests between are just as important as the notes.

Maybe I am just being Captain Obvious, but whether York or Trepat playing ( in completely 2 different ways of course) the sound that comes out of a Torres guitar from the 19th Century has a sweetness and un embrujo hard to describe but which never fails to make my listening that much of a deeper sensorial experience; although hard to explain with words , I never feel that same warmth listening to modern made guitars, no matter who is playing them....
