This gift to them by the government is called a Trickle Down economic theory. The money that the gov't gifted to those corporations were intended to raise worker pay and create new jobs. That has not happened and it never has. The $1k/month Freedom Dividend puts that money into the hands of the consumers in a Trickle Up economy. The money works its way up to the corporations in the form of sales of goods and services. It provides workers, displaced or not, the freedom to go back to school, to open their own businesses, to create a better life for themselves and their communities. How about instead of re-inventing we just look to how are founders thought. They knew exactly what to do. They were the average day to day American that lived and breathed, fought and died for their beliefs. In times like this we should be looking to the past to see what and why everything for a country "For the people, by the people" stood for. Why do we have freedom of speech? Why do the amendments mater so much? We need to answer these questions fast, or else I fear our country is doomed. And I don't mean the government. I mean the people. What do we want? Where do we want to take the country? What do we really stand for? We should also be looking to God for answers? There is a reason we are "One nation under God" that isn't a trope, It is reality. But even so, our founding fathers tolerated other religions and even said you could live here and thrive and practice yours. You could be tolerated no mater your idea or understanding of something. What does this all mean to us today? Have we lost the true spirit of America? I'm 20 years old, but I will be entering college and taking up a career and eventually maybe even leading groups of people in that career or even something more. I don't say any of this as a way to cement my ideas or say anyone is right or wrong, but the very fact we exist today is the blood, sweat and tears of our Fathers before us. Why should we change what was in mind for their idea of a nation under God? Their idea should be our idea for our nation. We have been lead astray, but God forgives. If we stop now and look back towards that future envisioned by God and our Fathers before us, it's not to late. Sorry for the wall of text

Solutions need intricate planning which I've seen Yang elaborate on with numerous talks, interviews, speeches, etc. Will they all work or be applied? No, but at least there's a method to the madness. I've started to realize Bernie is just trying to lure in this younger generation with these gimmicks of free this free that which are unrealistic and don't have breakdowns on their processes and implementation. They voted for the last guy so easy and people are standing by even tho he is not educated. Makes no sense. So people rather stand with uneducated then educated ones? Thats why I applied back to college and I hope to apply to work with you Mr. Yang even if its now or later with or without presidency, you are the one brother, why people cant see that. Brilliant, fact-based presentation by someone intelligent, compassionate and highly capable! Once upon a time, another entrepreneur running for president used flip charts (pre-Powerpoint paper-based technology) to explain how NAFTA was not going to be a "win/win" proposition but was going to cause a giant sucking sound as good manufacturing jobs left the country. That entrepreneur was Ross Perot, and the American people made fun of his ears & his flip charts and elected Bill Clinton instead. And then, as predicted, NAFTA started the tsunami of manufacturing job loss and the beginning of the end of the US blue collar middle class. Fast forward 28 years later, and an even smarter entrepreneur is explaining where the next wave of job losses will be coming from, and what we have to do to prevent an even greater unemployment & socioeconomic catastrophe. Nothing less than a major upgrade of our economic system will stave off the social chaos that a massive dis-employment tsunami due to AI automation will cause. Especially when the major US revenue generating corporations have utilized every loophole available to shield their enormous profits from domestic taxation and avoided all forms of corporate social responsibility to their home country. In other words, the current system is unsustainable as structured & incentivized, and we can look down the road just a little way and see that it will crash & burn unless we make some fundamental changes. Fortunately we have Andrew Yang articulating where we have been and where we are heading, as well as proposing ways to change where we end up. His contribution to the debate stage is to force the other candidates to talk about the real socioeconomic maladies that affect millions of Americans, and what, specifically, they are willing to consider doing to cure those maladies before the patient dies...

I'm not nor have ever been into politics, but I really wish that you become our president because you make me feel better and more hopeful for the future and you don't seem to only care about getting into office and then abandoning the country after like all the others. So President Andrew Yang even if you don't get elected for president this time around please don't ever give up because our country really needs someone like you even if we have to bear another 4 years with someone who doesn't know what they're doing please consider running in the future because we desperately need change and a way forward! Even if he becomes president, he will never be able to get that legislation passed. I would wish that for the US, the US would really reinvent itself and become one if not the most socially progressive country in the world, I just do not believe it will happen. State/local governments will need to be on board too. It's hard to even wrap my head around all the things that need to come together for UBI to replace welfare programs country-wide.
