It may sound stupid or outrageous to some people but believe me, I was depressed for 3 years and listening to Andrew talk about depression about a year ago and following is what got me out of depression. I am not even lying. Take accountability for your action and quit b*tching around if you want to get out of depression. That is all I can say about depression.

Same here. Went through so many therapists that beat around the bush and not get straight to the point, prolong it so you’re forced to come back for more sessions which means more money for them. Went through public therapy that’s free and they just hire anyone off the street, I work behind a bar and some girls that get smashed all the time, probs sniff coke and sleep with loads of guys and sometimes even have their own breakdowns, cry over something coz they’ve had too much to drink. They tell me they’re therapists and you’re like ”wtf” when they literally need therapy themselves. It’s sad coz some people would rather listen to the narrative over the blunt truth. The narrative portrayed being that depression is some sort of entity, you get it and it possesses you and you’re ill. The blunt truth being it’s a bad state of mind that you’ve convinced yourself and all you need is discipline. I heard one girl in that very bar saying “I’ve got anxiety, I’ve got disabilities”, like wtf mindset is that, convincing yourself you’re disabled. So how is she gonna go through life, oh yeah, forgot she’s pretty so she’ll probably be relying on a guy to pay her way through life then.

Big facts ofc this is not the problem for everyone but somehow i picture the vast majority of depressed people not living right thus becoming depressed it creates a cycle where you dont care about hygiene or eating healthy many are addicted to porn or videogames social media etc that much so the smallest things feel hard to do and in turn not doing those things is what makes you even more and keeps you depressed. I can imagine countless men and women too laying on bed sideways hours at a time on their phones looking at social media and content which they dont really even enjoy you mostly let out a little chuckle if even that when something funny comes up

Take accountability and improve in different aspects of life. It 100% changes how your brain is wired. Depression is accepting the negative feed back loop that you've developed in your mind to be absolute and unchangeable. It can be changed.

I have gone through 3 depressive episodes. I can tell you first hand that Depression is drowning in a glass of water. He is right, is a performance issue. You not acting like the man you want to be so instead of owning that mistake and perform, you drown in thoughts of negativity. They key to get out of that hole is small wins. Its all about small wins. That's why "Fix your bed" by Jordan Peterson is such a powerful statement. Small things like that, wash a plate, take out the trash. Small things add up and in no time you see yourself out of that hole. You can't get yourself to go for a walk? Freaking crawl of you have to but do something. If you eat like shit try to sneak half an apple in between meals and keep raising the rations everytime. Small Wins. Write them down. By the end of the day you'll have a whole sheet full with small things you accomplished that day and it will motivate you to do the same the next day. Small wins is the key.

@jameslanston8227 And risk losing my job? I have to conserve my energy to maintain a job, I already lost one job trying to fit in a time to go to the gym and what not. I was falling asleep in the car driving to work, almost killed a person because of my depression fatigue, etc because I thought maybe putting in more hours into nonsensical things like the gym would cure my depression. Working too much will only make my fatigue worse. I come home from work dead tired on the days I don't take modafinil (a stimulant) and immediately crawl into bed feeling like shit. I really have no choice but to endure this shit until maybe my Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation fixes my brain, it's only been two weeks since I have done it. I envy and respect people with normal brains, I really do, they live life full of power and prowess. I guarantee you that if you and I were to switch brains, you would see just how horrible the depression fatigue can get (Alongside the OCD element I have). There is no exercising out of it, no eating healthy out of it, etc. Good habits "may" help someone who is mentally ill, but it is no guarantee that it will. EDIT: It really is just working and sleeping for me. I have gotten to the point that I really don't care anymore that my life has gone to shit due to my brain malfunctioning. If the world were to go to shit I would have to end it via a shotgun to the head (fastest and easiest way to off oneself). I have too many chronic health problems that cannot be toughened out, those two health problems being clinical depression with OCD and Ulcerative Colitis. My life is going to be shit for a long time before I ever find remission via a pill or something fancy like TMS. I plan to endure this horrible life even if I am disabled, but I will make it. I will only off myself if modern society goes to shit or it becomes to painful, then I will have no choice. At least I am trying to get better, but if you were in my position, you would understand that I have legitimately tried to get better without drugs. However, this caused a lot of problems with me socially, and for my job.

All this so called experts almost killed me in the first place. This was almost 10years ago. I started to don't give a shit about all of them an startet my own journey of helping myself. It was hard. It’s much more lucrative for them to “help” you live with your illness so they can continuously make profit off of you. Would a drug dealer be interested in helping you get clean and off of the drugs he sells ? Of course not! Sure he doesn’t want you to OD on his product, but he sure as heck ain’t going to help you beat your addiction either. You are a returning customer. That’s what his business model is based on, without returning customers he has no business! Pill pushers are nothing more than licensed drug dealers. Facts. Acting like depression is something new to society speaks to the society we have today that believes technological innovation and progression is the same as wisdom. Mankind has dealt with depression since the dawn of time for our species. I'd bet my left butt cheek on that. We're still here... Depression is real, I've had moments of depression. I was prescribed some pills one time, can't remember what they were and when I was about to take them as I needed to be highly functional for my career, I was in the bathroom and suddenly got this feeling nah fck it. I'll deal with whatever this is on my own terms. Threw all the pills in the toilet and got to work on building mental toughness to get through it. Took quite a few months and there were ongoing issues. But it happened and I realised while building a high performing company that there are energies like depression you can actually use to your advantage if you're determined enough to funnel that into action towards your goals. For me it wasn't about not feeling depressed it was just about focusing on action, consistency, discipline and the last one empathy towards people in my circle. Looking back. I don't know if I would have achieved half the shit I have in life without being properly depressed.

You’re the master of your mind, you’re not its servant. If you let your own mind control you or others affect you , it’s game over. You are willing to put that same amount of energy to continue to think negativity in your thoughts, continuing trying to prove a point to everyone around you about how hard depression is. So what, almost every single person you see around you have gone through some crazy crap in their childhood, adulthood or whatever the case may be. It's life and just have thinker mindset and put that same energy of being negative to being positive and just push yourself. It's fine even if you get uncomfortable but sometimes someone need to be uncomfortable to get it going. It's not supposed to be easy. Life don't give a crap about how sad you are. Some people are more prone to being depressed than others, like me for example due to some of my mental illness. And I've experienced depression for a large part of my life. However you can make it out of it. And it starts with accountability because a lot of the causes of your depression can be dealt with, like having bad friends, habits (like porn addiction). Once you remove toxic things from your life and replace them with healthy habits like going to the gym, practicing gratitude, being very selective with the friends you make etc.. I went from being suicidally depressed, to being one of the happiest people I know without the need for anti depressants or any sort of drugs. Depression isn't the issue, it is a symptom of underlying issues in your life. If you focus on killing the symptoms but not the root issue, you will never overcome your depression which is why it has been PROVEN by research that in the long term, antidepressants don't get rid of depression.

Exactly. I would even argue that the point of antidepressant drugs is to in fact perpetuate depression. There's absolutely no logical sense in making drugs only a % of the population needs to use once or twice. When you want to understand the why ask what is the gain? If its sold, then it's profits. Plain and simple.

Whatever you do, do not lie down on your own and think, which he believes makes it so much worse. Just move - go a walk, go a run, swim, go to the shops for one thing, go to various different shops for one thing at morning-noon-and-night, go to the gym, go to the cinema by yourself, put on some headphone with music & walk about your home, cook, clean - just do anything to get moving.

Putting everyone in a box and saying this is this because of that or done like this is not always the case. Like what if someone's whole family just died in a car accident and he told you he was not feeling mentally good and you didn't know that his family died and showed him this video. You think it will benefit him?I doubt it. At least right away probably not..or like when people say boxing is the best martial art and you get tapped out or people say Jiu-Jitsu is the best martial art and you get knocked out. Even though I lean towards depression I don't identify with it. I work my ass off and force myself to get up and work out. On days like today where I need to rest my body, and it comes back, I just sit with it. I believe on some level our depression has a message for us. Yes you could still be depressed in any environment with any external changes (money sex etc). It is something much deeper. It is related to our connection and separation from the divine. If we can accept this with a bit of surrender and allow the "depression" to turn into something else, that is true power. It is like weather. It will never last and we don't look at the sky during a storm and say "hey that sky is that storm"....It changes to sun at some point.

As someone who has been hospitalized for bipolar depression I'll leave my two cents here for anyone struggling with similar issues. If you're feeling depressed, step one is to get your physical health in as good of a condition as possible. -Go outside for a little bit, try to calm your mind in the warm sun and breathe some fresh air. Your body was not built to stay inside all day. -Go to the gym, or at least do some calisthenics at home. I know what being depressed is like, but you have to just get up and go at least once a week, just for 30min-1hr. It's 1000% better than not going at all. -Try to improve your diet. You know what food is good for you, I don't need to tell you. At least incorporate some fruits/vegies to each meal. -GET. SOME. CONSISTENT. SLEEP. Probably the most important thing. 9hrs is the recommended amount per day but honestly the consistency of your sleep is more important than the duration. Your circadian rhythm is very powerful. Do these things for a month and see what happens. Depression is a powerful feeling but sometimes it really can be fixed by simple lifestyle changes. If you're like me and you've been doing all of these things, and you're still depressed, I'll say this: I wasn't an Andrew Tate follower, but I modeled my view about mental health around similar people. I listened to them, I didn't go to therapy, and I didn't tell anyone that I was passively suicidal nearly every day. That was until I had an absolute suicidal meltdown and was hospitalized. The amount of stress that put on my family is something I wouldn't wish on everyone. Please, if you're suicidal in any way, you need help. It doesn't make you any less of a person, I don't care what people like Tate say. What's better? Being "weak" and going to therapy/a psychiatrist, or being dead and having your loved ones see you in a casket? "The person in whom Its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise. Make no mistake about people who leap from burning windows. Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view; i.e. the fear of falling remains a constant. The variable here is the other terror, the fire’s flames: when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors." - David Foster Wallace Thank you for reading. Hope this helps. If you have any questions or disagreements please reply.

People do not understand what medical drugs are or there purposes. I am completely against neurological drugs but there is most certainly a point where there is a purpose to take them in extreme emergencies. But never for prolonged periods . If you have autonomous nervous system responses they will not stop on their own until time has passed (typically?) , you may need to drug yourself to cope with not losing your house and continuing to work. People have been doing this all through time I would imagine. That being said. I know a ton of girls who are on like 100mg of various drugs and have been for 20 years. When used in conjunction with working out and eating properly your mental recovery time from overload will most likely reduce.

Tate doesn't understand depression, which is fine. Depression is not a mindset, it's a state of mind that has been developed in a certain way, which may include trauma and genetics. What he says applies to sad ppl or someone going through a temporary episode of severe sadness. Telling someone whose depressed to snap out of it, is like telling a blind person to see. Its not a justification by no means, but it's more complecated than just listening to some motivational speech one day and being able to change your life forever.

This whole point of his is non-information, it’s useless. No professionals think that anti-depressants are THE cure to depression. Similarly, nobody contends that there’s nothing you can do about your own depression, you certainly can. But it’s not so trivial, and believing in the phenomenon of depression is not destructive, it just teaches you that you have a condition that you and a professional need to deal with, anti depressants or not. Acknowledging depression allows you to take it seriously and address it accordingly
