You can tell how much he admires his father . His whole life fulfillment lies in making his father proud every single day . I don’t care what stupid things he’s said , he’s obviously had so much knowledge passed on by his father and we were all blessed to hear some of these greats lessons and ideas . Andrew hoping you come back soon because the internet didn’t know it then but we know it now - we need more men like Andrew and Emory .

His dad was in military til he was 11. Kicked out due to mental health issues and mother divorced him same yr and mom and kids returned to England. He barely saw his father after that. He admired him IN Absence, like children miss approval and love from an absent parent, even a tough, abusive one. Father died with no money.

I played a number of games w/ Emory Tate bet about 1982 - 2002. He had a healthy plus score vs me, but I managed a couple wins. The late GM Lubosh Kavalek wrote a nice tribute article about him (in Chess Life magazine some 20 yrs ago) entitled 'Entertaining Tate'. RIP Emory.

It's interesting because you can tell how much Andrew doesn't just admire but really seems to respect and love his father with all his flaws, faults, & and mistakes. I think Andrew knows he was flawed yet brilliant man who could've done a lot better in other departments of his life but taught, lead, & guided the sons to the tools they needed to not just survive but thrive in life. Which no matter how you slice it or dice it is a fathers most important job when it comes to his children epically his sons. You can see that Andrew has either adapted or improved on traits his father lacked in and that he made that effort by choice but still respects the man for what is respectable about him. Andrew seems to have a strong IQ intelligence (math, logic, & patterns), yet his EQ intelligence (emotional control, understanding others, & introspective abilities) seems to be outstanding which is something his father heavily lacked in as you can tell from the stories, he talks about him. Andrew has this infectious positive attitude and mindset about him that I think young men seem to miss about him that is very important to have if you want success in life.

FYI Andrew didn't go to his father funeral cuz he had a chance to earn money if he stayed where he was located (then he was almost broke) his father would approve that move so he did it

First, he recruited girlfriends and women to tell fake sob stories to men to get money out of them. Tate now admits tha t was a scam. Then he moved on to filming porn from unwilling women lured in thinking they would have relationships with him. That's why couldn't make yes there funeral!

If you watch Andrew's body language he basically ignores Patrick the entire time and does not even acknowledge his presence with his eyes or even one glance... I would love to know the reason for this as Andrew does everything for a reason and he is usually way more present and connecting with who he is talking to and in this case he only looked at the camera
