Why can’t we just use our actual nationalities and not race or ancestry as a descriptor. I’m American. My ancestry is Scott-Irish. Big whoop. I’ve never been to Scotland nor Ireland. So why would I claim something I know nothing about. The only people IMO that could claim Africa would be the ones brought here on slave ships from Africa. Even then they were from different countries on that continent and from different tribes. The only ones really robbed of their culture were the actual Africans. Even then their cultures varied depending on country and tribe. The last former slaves died in the 1940’s. Everyone born here after the formation of our nation are American. To be more specific citizens of the USA. Our nation’s history can’t be erased nor forgotten. I feel like all these labels make no sense. Like Morgan Freeman said I’ll just call you a man not a white man and you just call me a man not a black man. Of course now even that is a slippery slope because of assuming gender. Never mind I give up. Lol

If you can call a white person Argentinian American, then you should be able to call a black one "Brazilian American" or whatever it may be. Why is it so difficult for the white racists in the chat to understand? Only America sees race as NOT BEING HUMAN. Human = race. There's no such thing as a "black" people, or "white" people. Only Americans label the world as latino, asian, white, and black. Also, ask someone from England "what are you?" They will say "British." Ask a white from America, "what are you?" I'm white! Charlamagne is actually correct about the original humans. There were multiple species of humans scattered across the globe - Homo sapiens (Africa), homo erectus (Asia), neanderthal (Europe), etc. Each of these species were humans, but with different bone structures and unique features. Over time, they evolved to adapt to their environments better and began migrating and mating with each other... Something tells me he doesn't like reading books but Andrew should read Sapiens by Yuval Harari, might open his eyes to new information.

Charlemagne just didn't want to give up his thought that black people were everywhere since the beginning of time, and also white people came from Africa. Even though in modern history whites have come from 6 continents, but blacks only originated in Africa. Even the Caribbean black people he kept trying to use came from Africa less than 600 years ago (still modern history), so his point didn't make sense.
