    He doesn't suffer from a chemical addiction anymore. Probably not since he was a teenager. What true addicts suffer from is continually engaging in addictive behavior to shield or distract from emotional realities.

  • @AveSicarius

    @AveSicarius

    Жыл бұрын

    I mean it's a relapse in addictive behaviour, it's the correct terminology, and there's not really other word for it. Yeah, relapsing with heroin, meth, or even alcohol is way worse, and can actually kill people depending on the situation, with far worse withdrawal. But you can relapse in any addiction, including sex or gambling. Usually because we create these habit's during periods of addiction that instantly surface when you put yourself in that position again, so once an addict, always an addict, because it's easy to be Sisyphus and let that boulder roll you back down the hill.

  • @AveSicarius

    @AveSicarius

    Жыл бұрын

    @@davidtran9444 I mean your neurobiology is permanently altered by addiction or just heavy substance abuse, it can especially fuck with your dopaminergic pathways and lead to ADHD like symptoms when you sober up. People with these conditions, including myself, are also far more predisposed to addiction precisely because this system is inherently fucked and it's a form of instinctual self-medication because it "makes you feel normal". So I wouldn't be surprised if people who suffered heavy addiction earlier in life, especially Bobby Lee who was apparently on heroin at 17 (I know people who grew up with heavy drug use and it permanently influenced most of them), end up with a predisposition to physiological addiction as well as the mental health issues surrounding it. But yeah, you absolutely hit the nail on the head when talking about the behaviour of addiction. It's not just about chemical addiction, if anything the physical withdrawal and the symptoms of it are much easier to deal with compared to that loss of mental anesthesia. Plenty of people also suffer with inherent depressive issues that are also tied to neurochemical imbalances that various drug's feel like they treat. So it's a combination of mental and physical issues that can make it very difficult to move past. Really, the best option for most people is to find something they can moderate and isn't harmful to their life. Otherwise relapses can occur whenever anything bad happens at all, it's a slippery slope, like Sisyphus and his boulder, you can make it almost the whole way to the top and instantly end up right where you started if you slip up.

    Bobby Lee is a wild dude when it comes to how he treats other people around him in the world. For those who he thinks that he is not as good as, he has a major inferiority complex even when that person is either his equal or below him, but like I said, it's his perception. And whether or not that person is or is not better than him, at least they are getting plenty of respect from him! The problem is, he treats people that he sees as inferior, again his perception they may be better than him, in some way, but he will treat those people like utter crap. And I think it has a lot to do with him having such a suppressed personality and he is simply copying what other people in the comedy world do. A lot of those people are insufferable jerks. But it is amazing to see Bobby Lee speak down to people because he seems like such a softy but he really is a jackass

    @@AhmadSmile1994 I mean people under the influence in general can be abusive and somewhat violent. Now throw in a need to hide your behaviour because you know other people see it as deviant, and the self-centeredness addiction encourages, and yeah it makes sense that some people would be really manipulative and abusive when they are relapsing. It's not an excuse though, you have to own your behaviour regardless, yeah, shitty mental health might be a part of it, but that's not an excuse to hurt other people. Not talking to someone isn't exactly the worst thing I can imagine though, also probably a good thing for Scott's brother in that case if that's all it took.

    Can't be just weed. Absolutely not. California sober means being sober but only smoking weed... So I mean c'mon.

    I think they need to clarify that Bobby was smoking weed and thats the “relapse” i think its disrespectful for the ones who really struggled with heavier things

    I scoot my butt on the ground like a dog with a basket of corn dogs in my lap this allows me to scoot into any buffet in town and since people think I'm handicapped they will let me scoot across the floor to the buffet area then I place the basket of corn dogs on top of the buffet I then scoot all the way over to the front door and because they think I'm handicapped I'll be able to sit there and watch other patrons of the buffet eat my corn dogs that were brought to the buffet in a basket by me scooting on butt thinking theys part of buffet

    @@ricojones-fernandez2165obby was drinking and using weed only. I'm pretty sure they have talked about it on numerous podcasts but the jist is Bobby's addiction is so crazy that even just weed makes him a fiend. Like he was literally buying pounds of weed a day and even though it was just "weed" he literally was acting like a crack addict hiding and being paranoid and shitting himself/hotel rooms. I know it sounds crazy but he went off the rails after his dad died and while it may seem like weed is not that big a deal but for someone like him with such a traumatic thing happen and all the ptsd as kid it manifests in strange behavior. But no it wasn't hard shit like heroin. Don't listen to that dude up top I'm a huge fan and literally watch everything Bobby and Santino do
