I love how this conservative interviewer literally gave him the BARE MINIMUM of what abortions he thought was ok, and Ben still got offended on the behalf of fetuses, probably considering that’s who he usually debates💀 anytime someone challenges his beliefs in the slightest he puts himself on a high horse that bars him from even speaking to those below him in terms of his morals. Never once has “I simply think I am better than you” been a legitimate argument in an actual debate let alone an INTERVIEW.

@@billyscorner2232 he didn't. He gave a generic, unsubstantiated answer and responded directly attacking his interviewer, committing several fallacies. The guy then tried to be more specific and Ben interrupted him several times and refused to actually answer the first question. BTW, if the answer "science says so" satisfies you as is, then you shouldn't use science as your argument because "science" isn't a thing. More of a thing are scientific studies and theories. If someone says "science says so" and you don't ask "show me", science doesn't say so.

Punishments for abortions seem to be going back to the dark ages. All Ben needed to do was to explain how that's not true in a cordial manner. Instead, he called him a leftist, he insulted him and BBC, called him irrelevant and asked him ridiculous questions. Frankly it wasn't a debate, it was an interview. I thought the interviewer was the one asking questions not the other way around.

@@el29 yup and what did Ben show throughout the interview? That he thought he was there to debate and inflate his ego win the argument by talking fast so they don't have time to respond. And when he realised he wasn't debating a naive college student as usual, he left because he couldn't take it. Andrew Neil was definitely playing on the passive aggressive side, but Ben literally sat there and through a tantrum and left. You can't really defend that lol.

Shapiro escalated the interview, took critique personal, and called it "personal attacks". EDIT: Also, I'm not at all blaming this on you, since it's not shown in this clip. But in the full interview, there's multiple occasions where Ben underlines his own popularity in comparison to BBC and uses that to try to lower the validity of the interviewers criticism.

When Shapiro comes up against a serious interviewer he just throws his toys out of the pram and flounces off.

Sebastian Gomez-Duranona, but the interviewer didn’t call Ben Shapiro’s views barbaric. In fact, he was giving Ben Shapiro a chance to prove to the audience that his views weren’t irrational. Ben then proceeded to treat the interview as if it was a debate instead of just answering the question. And even in a debate, if you have to dodge the questions asked by pointing out the ‘flaws’ in your opponent instead of defending your views, your views don’t have much substance. Ultimately, Ben Shapiro acted childish because he is so used to arguing with people about how others are wrong that he couldn’t properly discuss his own views without getting defensive.

The Left does this all the time to the right in the U.S. the interviewer seemed to want to try to make a fool out of Ben. Must say that this is one of the few times I have seen Ben rattled ! The interviewer was a calm, cool guy who at least succeeded in getting under the skin of Ben.

Bailey Bettazza he wasn’t there to answer he was there to ask. He asked questions opposite what Ben’s opinions was, that’s the kind of interview. For example he takes a different view when interviewing Diane Abbott. His own opinion doesn’t come into it

Ummm, Ben said that to the interviewer, and the interviewer seemed to reply with a "you too" insult that didn't feel very genuine. And Ben's response of "why are you interviewing me then?" is very valid. I think they clearly got off on the wrong foot and neither was willing to extend and olive branch. However, that's usually the job of the interviewer.

What's hilarious is that Ben Shapiro thought that Andrew Neil was on the left. Andrew is one of the most conservative journalists in the U.K., buddy!
