    Mick's style evolved when ID placed the "no guitar" restriction on him during DOOM 2016. It became iconic. It was an new experience for him, but then it evolved again in Eternal when the restriction was no longer present. Hushult went to the same situation. His previous works like in DUSK are heavy af, but to me seemed monotonous structure-wise. But then Eternal came along and he and Levy had to follow Mick's established DOOM structure. A restriction was in place. From then on, gave birth to the Ancient Gods OST. My favorites in its entirety being Blood Swamps, The Holt, Reclaimed Earth, and if I heard it right during the fight, The Dark Lord. Let's see what this experience entails later on their career. Whether it's DOOM or another.

  • @DoctorReflux

    @DoctorReflux

    3 жыл бұрын

    I think that’s due to how the game handles music in general. All of eternal and 16’s soundtracks are actually chopped up pieces of a much bigger track that all play in random order, which is also why a lot of mixes on KZread will sound really unorganized compared to others

  • @rdowg

    @rdowg

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@DoctorReflux that's exactly it! The issue only becomes an "issue" when compared to Gordon's music. All of his tracks are well crafted (full) songs that you can rearrange in quite a few different ways and still have a great song. TAG1's music is just riffs thrown around with no central motifs connecting them

    I have to disagree. If you listen to lets say this mix kzread.info/dash/bejne/mndqo7KQk8a3cbA.html&ab_channel=EvantheUsurper you might change your mind. Even if riffs are thrown together at random in game, you can clearly hear connecting theme and in fact they are better tied together in game compared to Eternal base campaign. My example for all is ARC level where the "Only Thing They Fear is You" comes in and out in really chopped up and artificial way.
