Andreas Faludi introduced the term "environmental planning", an umbrella term to connect various forms of Dutch planning (spatial planning, water management, environmental planning, traffic and infrastructure planning, etc.). This concept has been crucial in Dutch planning in the last decades. He largely contributed to the debate within planning sciences, in particular in the field of rational theory and European spatial planning.
