You sound pretty excited about this one, Randy! It's always cool to see a reviewer get excited about a knife you wouldn't necessarily think he would like, from a styling point of view. That speaks volumes for the quality of the knife at hand. Andre has knocked this one out of the park!

It’s interesting how everyone rags on Andre. Some of you may well have had bad experiences but I own four (now five) of his knives and he’s been nothing but awesome to deal with.

I've wanted a butcher every since I first saw one, but being in the UK, it would never get the use I'd want for the money. But this Mini Butcher :D I'm pretty sure I could talk my way out of any trouble I might get in to with a locking blade aslong as its 3inch or under. But I've just never been too sure about a 3inch framelock flipper and how I'd like it, but I've got a Microtech Mini Matrix coming in so I'll know then :) I've heard the issues with Andre's customer service, but atleast there are people like you who would be epic to work with :)

Not my action, but I can understand why some would appreciate it.... Nice video, you're fun to watch when you dig a knife !!!

Haha... you're killing me again with timing! First the Mini Sam... now this!!! I just got one of his new Gen3 Mini TAC-Butchers (direct from Andre in South Africa) about 12 days ago! :) And I am in ABSOLUTE LOVE with it!!! :) The Gen3 has SS lockbar insert and a thumb disc and a bit bigger pivot (and a couple other refinements). Like you've observed... the F&F on mine is awesome and it is very well made. If he comes out with a mini of his other knife, the Pathfinder, I'll probably have to get one of those as well. Excellent point on the Wharnie vs Sheepsfoot shape, btw. :)

"I don't watch my own videos." O.K. - Sure you don't. ***ANOTHER*** off the list. If someone will be dishonest about THAT.....how could you truly trust them? You can't.

I've heard Andre is a nightmare to work with and his customer service is terrible. I like the knife but the numerous Bladeforums threads saying his wrong doings are enough to keep me away.

I'd heard that too (via bladeforums) before I had personal dealings with him and bought a mini butcher from him myself. He was awesome. Very responsive, cool to deal with, got me the knife in 4 days from South Africa and made sure I was happy. I'd buy from him again in a heartbeat.

1all's Pub I'm one of those people who had a terrible experience with him. Everything was great until he made a ridiculous mistake and then just ignored me because he didn't want to deal with it.

Misanthropia I went and read your BF thread... man that's a bummer. Like I said, my experience with him was great. Hopefully I don't have any problems with the knife in the future and don't have to worry about any such issues. My knife is a brand new Gen3 Mini TAC-Butcher which has lots of refinements over the initial ones and is very well built, so I don't expect any problems. Anyway, hope you get yours squared away. Always a bummer when CS falls down in any kind of venture. :(

I was close to buying one of these until I read your BF thread. Thanks for sharing your experience and warning others about the CS issues. Now the new info is all over FB about his alleged affiliations. Very glad I held off. Thanks again.

Knives and Motorcycles I've read all that stuff too, but I had absolutely the opposite experience with Andre. Totally cool, very attentive, personally took care of me and even personally sent me my tracking number (and I got the knife in 4 days from South Africa). And the knife I got from him is perfect.
