A very sad moment of the movie, makes me weep. A proud Austrian captains farewell to his homeland that has been annexed by the Nazis who try to force him to fight for them.

I had the joy to play with him in the Vienna state opera. I won't forget that day till the end of this life.

We played this one on the funeral of my grandfather, he was such a fan of André and his greatest love was always Austria. Thank god he had the chance to meet André a few times and has visit Austria multiple times. This song and any other songs of André seems so calm me down so much and brings back the memories i had with my grandfather listening to his DVD’s or shows on TV. Someday my sister and i will go to a show of André just for our grandfather Thanks for making great music André, you will keep the memories alive of my grandfather.

Certain songs give you goose bumps and this is one of them .love it.

When I heard the vocals come in I thought it was all in my head and then I realized they weren't, absolutely amazing

If I let myself, my eyes will fill with tears when I listen to this beautiful rendition. Just to listen to his violin and the enormous unseen choir singing when the song reached its climax!🎶😢❤

The first time I listened to it, I did not notice the choir in the back, as it rose and fell so subtly, but it made a huge impact on the beauty of the song. The second time, I heard it, and it was so powerful, so beautiful, that it caused a tear to fall. This is one of the most beautiful songs I know, and André Rieu turned it into a masterpiece among masterpieces.
