This music saved my life. Once I was so depressed and hopeless and broke with no hope and seeming no future -only an empty studio apartment with a cot and a small bedside table with a radio on it. I thought why not just end it all. I don't know to this day why I did it-but before making a final decision to end my life I reached out from the cot to turn the radio on and I heard the announcer say "and now On The Beautiful Blue Danube" and after a short silence this beautiful and magical music started playing and slowly as if by some miracle it brought indescribable joy to my heart and I suddenly was dancing all around the room. My gloom lifted and I felt tremendously hopeful and suddenly happy. True story.

Tchaikovsky was the real Father of the Waltz, the Strauss family (x4) were the next generation. All to do with the great Emperors of Russia and The Austro-Hungarian Empires. I was fortunate to a student in Liverpool when Simon Rattle was the resident Conductor, although his taste for Shostakovich was not mine. However "forced" 20 students to attend and ALL wanted to go back again. TRUE LIES is how I remember this piece with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Yes Andre from afar I just love your style I really do. You are a lovely entertaining musician and your shows, show a wonderful talent for organisation and technical professionalism. True story.
