    Seems like a bit of a cop out though. Just a bit. I mean he really asked what could he rap about lol. “Colonoscopy” really? He dropped a whole woodwind album. He’s clearly at a different level of consciousness, and Anyone who listens to Andre knows he’s a deep thinker, and I’m willing to bet it’s a lot of things he could say, that for whatever reason he’s just deciding not to say. I believe he can still get busy if he really wanted to. All at colonoscopy talk is dung. Don’t get me wrong I’m not against the route he decided to take, and I really enjoyed his album. But to say he has nothing to rap about is lie. Rap is like news reporting. There’s always something to report.

    @@Lon3Starrbut why do ppl feel so entitled to a rap album from him? Art is made by a person or group of people at the end of the day they ain't slaves they are free to create what they please. It's not like they gave him money before hand in exchange for a rap album. He was pretty open and honest we knew this was gonna be a flute album for the last year.

    @@doctordef324But i Think he knows Well enough that rap dont have to be all those things. They atleast were not when he made it himself. He could take many routea. Theres so many rappers that are only getting better with age like Danny Brown for example. Jay z and nas have still done great. Whole griselda Crew hit Their Best when they were already old just like Freddie gibbs. Jid is not much younger than j Cole and kendrick, but he is still the new thing. Little simz is 30 and doing incredible aswell, not even reaching what she wants to reach yet. Andre dont have to rap, thats totally fair (even though no one is half as good as him on the mic). Not using his voice is a shame though, cause his singing is top notch aswell. What he did with the flute album was brave and it sounded great, but with his voice i Think a lot of People including me would like it better. Just like the ep he made on mathers Day which was incredible and some of the most raw ans heartfelt Music ive ever heard. At the end of the Day him choosing to do what he feels like doing instead of what People want is respectable and what makes him andre 3000

    @doctordef324 Nah, he literally has nothing to rap about, or at least nothing he views as worth picking up the pen and writing about. That’s why he says it feels inauthentic to rap because, to him, it must feel like he is forcing topics that he does not really feel passionate about expressing. So, he has to force himself to pretend to see it that way, in my opinion.

    I just had an amazing spiritual talk with my grandparents, not even a few minutes ago. And what I'll say next is for everyone, whether you understand it or not yet. Dear Andre (and I know you'll one day see this), brother you keep being you. Even though you known it spiritually, don't ever think for a second that those who were "logical" at the time understood where you came from g. No one but yourself and those who, by the blessing of our creator, understood what you were saying by then but let me tell you that so many do now. I was born in 2001 and yet was blessed to have been born in such a grateful moment as I am. And thanks to you Andre, even though I've only heard your mainstream hits until the last few months of being even more open to knowing that we all know absolutely nothing besides what it is we take in, you've reminded me also that life is a about learning on a more deeper level than I've ever known before. Remember this, folks, if anything. The only thing you ULTIMATELY HAVE in this "life", is what you've learned and valued from it. I promise that there is more than what any of us have ever been lead to believe. But also know that you have to, deep down in the area that you don't understand why it feels the way it feels, also be willing to accept all the consequences that come with having genuine love for others. If not, you won't go to "hell" as you may know it. But at some point you'll realize just what it is that I'm taking about. And believe me when I say this; I love all of you now just as much as I will when you finally understand. For every single one of us that has gone through what you've going through. Maybe not physically, but the "physical" isn't what is important. And with that, I shall let you be.

    His life of the party verse is exactly what he has to rap about. His verses are emotion evoking, thought provoking, and just poetic beauty. Doesn't have to be about surface, superficial sht to be relevant to true hip-hop heads.

    I respect everything he's saying. If you're truly his fans, you'll respect what he says also. No body say you had to listen to his album. Even I still like his music 🎶. I wish my soul could be at peace like he's. He keeps telling people he's not the same person he was when he first rapped, let him be go listen to old OUTKAST, and get your fix.

    I respect where he is. It's a terrible feeling to try to force yourself to say something when you genuinely don't feel that you have anything to say. BUT I would contend that there IS a place for rapping about the life that he lives now. It might not be the same kind of bars as "Bombs Over Baghdad" or even "Prototype," but I refuse to believe that a man who's been traveling the world playing his flute doesn't have stories to tell.

  • @chrisjfox8715

    Agreed. He can and should do whatever he's motivated to do, but it's a literal falsehood that the life of a man in his 40s can't be reflected through poetry. He's too caught up on where he would fit in this "young man's game" instead of just letting whatever he does speak for itself in its own lane and just let it be.

    Instead of saying "I'm older but wiser now. I have many things that I reconsidered in life. Hey, youth! Hey people! Relax, be peaceful... etc." he said all of it without any words. Even though I personally think that words are more powerful than sound, in this case the album said so much more than just words.

    Say you need more of him, I think his last album succeeded in making people talk about it and to be honest the south has single handily fucked hip hop up this is the same person in the awards said the south has something to say well from where I sit it’s all been garbage, from the brat with her muff diving turning up pregnant marrying a woman to gay dudes dressing like women wearing beards to talk show host giving his opinion to heterosexuals when he gets his peanut butter packed

    Andre makes perfect sense when he said that because if anybody notice you always get the best albums out of yourself when you’re fresh from street experiences and than you grow from it.

  • @coreyhall9461
    @coreyhall94614 күн бұрын

    What he is talking about is called maturity. He has grown and is an authentic person. He left the game at the right time. He grew away from the streets and no longer lived that. Other rappers to to learn from him. When you're in your 40's and 50's and you're still rapping about street life, you sound good and foolish.

    Andre spoke about his timing and momentum, that's the industry. He thinks he is too old for this generation, he isn't on bull shit and trying to get views. Andre needs to put out an album for the old heads, and not that instrumental spiritual album he dropped. Speak to his generation, real shit.
