@@HabitualCinema it wasn’t, that’s one of the main reasons it looks way better than obi or boba, they actually went out into the world and shot on location a bunch, it’s very noticeable and is a major positive because while the volume is good technology they way overused it for the last 2 shows and it ended up hurting them both alot

Almost spit out my drink at "Stellar Skarsgård". I love the mix of on-location shooting, CG and stagecraft. It all combines to create a look more akin to the films than most anything else Lucasfilm has put on D+ so far (maybe even Mando S2). I'll admit, I wasn't chomping at the bit for a Cassian spin-off, but I was 100% down for an espionage story. Safe to say, this trailer has ignited the "fires of rebellion" that is my level of interest.

I love the tone of this show through the trailer. Haven't expected so much from a Star Wars trailer since Rogue One. The Mandalorian season 1 exceeded my expectation whereas I hope Andor meets it.

Always love the enthusiasm and discussion! Andor is the most anticipated SW series I’ve been waiting for. Rogue One was definitely one of my all time favorite SW films that truly delivered and felt like it belonged in the original universe. Cannot wait for the debut in September. 💕 Thanks guys!

Im glad you guys touched on something at 6:30 in the video... i know people will now come out of the woodwork to say "See, this show didnt use stagecraft (the volume) at all and it is the BEST looking project to come out on Disney + yet". And i agree, they have done just amazing with this, but let's remember this is the same person from both Rogue One and the Jason Bourne series doing this and these types of realistic, breathtaking cinematics are his thing! But back to my point, you guys talked about the volume opening the door for SO much more creative expression when we are restricted to studio shots or lockdown/quarantine conditions. I am happy the volume wasnt involved here, but at the same time, as someone with a special needs son who is all about creative solutions to bringing as real of an experience to virtual reality as possible, i can't help but fully support what StageCraft and UE5 have made possible. Between StageCraft and UE5's video game tech in games like Fortnite, the future of interactive virutal entertainment is really just full of endless potential. Great reaction you guys! can't wait for this show! It looks to be the dark horse that will come out as a favorite among the community!

I think this could end up being one of my favorite things from Star Wars. Only makes me more excited to see the animated characters from rebels in a show with this type of live action production.

I think we definitely could have some cameos from some characters from Rebels, which really excites me, but I don't think it'll happen until the second season because at the time this first season takes place, the Ghost crew hasn't joined the larger rebellion yet

Sadly this production quality is the result of the director and writer Gareth Edwards who I bet fought his ass off to tell this story through this visual process. The shows from these other showrunners and those that will follow, at the very least within the next year or two, are likely not to look as epic in scale as this one

This is what why I really like watching Heroes Reforged is the insight they bring of movies and how they work in the behind the scenes that is really interesting to know and watch. Good work guys.

Yes. The best VFX are totally invisible. The "reality" of this Andor trailer vs the artificiality of the prequels illustrates it perfectly.

Mexillence in space. Yep, that right there is why I watch you guys. The humor AND the deep analysis of these worlds.

This series looks phenomenal. I love Rogue One, it's one of my favorite Star Wars films, and this looks like it captures that feeling perfectly.

What I love most about this channel is that up until I began watching you guys, I thought that only my sister and I randomly made Nacho Libre a part of our day-to-day lives. Like if someone gets somewhere fast we say “Secret tunnels”. If food is bland we’ll say “Where are the cheeps?”. If we eat something that doesn’t feel right we’ll say we’re gonna have diarrhea till Easters. That sort of thing. Other day I was playing videogames with my son and when he started beating me I said “I don’t wanna get paid to lose. I WANNA WHIN!” and he had no idea what I was talking about. 😅

That looks so good! By far the most cinematic looking shots I've seen from any of the series. If the script delivers this will be fantastic.

Hector, you are absolutely correct. A project can be cinematically beautiful, scored to perfection, and acted brilliantly but as a writer - that's all just icing for me. The story and the characters must be solid. Icing alone isn't going to cut it. This trailer looks amazing. I love the gritty Rogue One feel and I'm really looking forward to this show.

Looks sooo much more put together than Obi-Wan. Honestly I'm super excited for this. Rogue One is still my favourite SW movie because it feels like the stakes are real instead of sci-fi plot armour stuff. So hyped to see Cassian again! I better see some hint of K-2S0!!!

We need more "street level" Star Wars. I just started re-reading the Rogue Squadron series and it gives us a deeper look an important part of this very large Universe. It's not just Jedi vs. Sith and Legends like Luke, Han, and Leia; it's also the average person on the street that fights for their convictions and stands up to tyranny and oppression. Rebellions are built on this, and I am glad to see that we are finally going to see this play out in Live Action. Legends are great, but they're symbols to inspire others to fight the fight.

This looks like a full blown movie trailer and not for a show on a streaming service. Can't wait watching it.

According to Tony Gilroy, they did not use the Volume for this show. They wanted to go predominantly practical with their sets, both at Pinewood Studios and on real locations.

I think series like this are the future of Star Wars. The stories are so rich and lore packed a lot of time they need room to breath and not being shaved down to be fit into the box of a 2 to 2 and a half hour movie. Hopefully the success of this show helps green light more shows like it for Star Wars

I would love Cham Syndulla to be in the show because I always liked how he fought the empire on his homeworld and seeing different faction fighting but different purposes would be great. I think Cham and Saw meeting would be great

This trailer is epic. I think this series will turn out to be the gem amongst all the Disney Plus series, like Rogue One is to the movies.

I had the lowest expectations for this, now I want to see it more than anything else. The shot of the ship on fire flying under the energy beams looks incredible. Can't wait.

Mexillant and stella Skarsgard!! I love it. lol. I wasn't really a big fan of Rogue One (except for a couple of characters and scenes), so I had no intention of watching this show. However, once I saw this trailer and that music really started amping up, I was like, "Now, I am intrigued."

The visuals are spectacular and yes, I wish it were theatrical. The cast is amazing too! Very much looking forward to this!

I think the volume is great but you need balance. Andor seems to be striking the right balance if not relying more on the real world locations. That is instantly setting it apart from everything else before it.

This feels like Rogue One but with a Bourne-ish undertone with the espionage and political involvement

Which is appropriate, considering that Tony Gilroy, who worked on that trilogy and wrote those films, is heavily involved in this project. Even the small exchanges that we get in this trailer are very reminiscent of conversations from those films.

I loved Rogue One. It is my top SW film and I don't care if it's the unpopular opinion. That's how I honestly feel about it. This is the kind of storytelling I have been waiting to see in a SW property. Political thriller with a big helping of action? Heck ya!!! As for potential characters we might see... I think I'll let the show surprise me. But I will admit I'm curious whether or not some of the characters from RO will be mentioned in some way if not in the first season then in the second season. Will Ben Mendelsohn cameo as Krennic or will he be only mentioned by name? Mads Mikkelsen's Galen Erso? I'm also thinking of Jyn Erso. Saw Gerrera did take her under his wing. Is she still with him when Andor starts or did she already leave? I have questions but I'll wait for Andor to answer some of them.

It's a better time than ever, right now, to be a Star Wars fan. 👍 Right now, as opposed to a few months earlier or later even, because these shows seemingly come and go so quickly! Two seasons of the Mandalorian, Boba Fett and Obi-Wan, (the Bad Batch and the finale of the Clone Wars,) and not to mention every MCU movie and show that we've all spent months anticipating lol only to have come and gone already now before we even know it. I want to hold on to THIS moment, when we've enjoyed so much and still have so much to look forward to, as well. ✌

So since we know that it was the Ghost crew from Rebels that helped Mon Mothma escape at the very start of the Rebellion, I wonder what the chances are that we see any appearances by the crew in this show or at the very least, references to them.

So excited for this show as Rogue One is my favourite Star Wars universe film and it’ll be fantastic to see the lead up to that and making that part of the history richer. Also, there’s some brilliant British actors in that trailer who I’m excited to see getting bigger profiles, particularly Denise Gough (the blond woman within the empire by the looks of it).

Tony Gilroy just did an interview with Empire Magazine that they did not use the Volume, as it's all practical sets. He said they went old school.

I'm very excited for this show. Season 1 should be fantastic, but season 2 taking place over 4 years with each year taking place during 3 episodes sounds like it's gonna be even more epic!! XD And we could even see young Leia again, though maybe another new actress since this would be 4 years after Obiwan. And of course like others have said, the fact that this show takes place in the exact timeline of Rebels has me thinking many many thoughts. Though if not cameos or guest stars for them, I'd be fine with just mentions of things happening on Lothal and other events during Rebels. Maybe even some of the events during the Leia: Princess of Alderaan novel, since Saw and the Partisans took a few big swings during that book that the Rebellions proper didn't like. And I assume the end of season 2 will be him getting that mission we see him on at the beginning of Rogue One. I certainly think this show is going to be more vast that the other Star Wars shows. Can't wait!!

Like I've said in others reactions, and in the SW YT channel (which they acknowledged me 😂), man...this looks so cinematic, intense and insane! Love that we'll be seeing the beginning of the Rebellion which we haven't seen before. Loved Rogue One, and put the "war" in Star Wars...this seems to be doing the same. This was such a great trailer...the music especially was so good. I can take a three week delay for this 100%...also, we're having She-Hulk this month so.

Hope is a constant in the New Star Wars. And that's the problem. We always hope that THIS show will be the good one.

Your theories about the fx and the Volume is interesting. But keep in mind, most of Andor was shot on location. I agree with Adam that the blend of sfx sources is always the best way to go.

The Mine is a stark contrast to the fattening richness of the leaders and people of Corusant! At eh conclusion of Kenobi I wrote a teaser of what i want to see in the next Boba Fett. It includes Boba revisiting his errors of his past, its gritty and shows Kessel as well. Totally agree with Hector, the story brings everything!

I hope it will be the first Star Wars show that does not have lightsaber.

This Shit Looks 🔥🔥🔥. The people over at "Rogue One/Andor" division of #StarWars understand the task. The trailer is bringing to mind the more grittier canon books like "Star Wars: Rebel Rising" and "Battlefront's" two books. Hate they pushed it back, but I understand. They don't want to totally cannibalize itself. Cannot wait for the premiere.
