Andersen Tawil Syndrome | PPA SUMMIT 2021 Supercut #6

In the 6th video of this 6 part "SUMMIT SUPERCUTS" video series about Periodic Paralysis, Dr. Rabi Tawill discusses in depth a rare form of periodic paralysis called Andersen-Tawil Syndrome. Dr. Tawil presents information regarding episodic weakness of the skeletal muscle and how it can cause irregular, potentially serious cardiac arrhythmias. This presentation was filmed at the annual PPA Conference in Orlando, Florida along with 5 other discussions about PP. If this discussion was insightful, you might find the other talks in this series helpful as well.

Thank you for sharing this video! I am the youngest of six siblings, each with children, and a few with grandchildren. Myself and my own 3 children have a clinical diagnosis of ATS (along with a few other rare things ) Is there an ongoing gene study that we could be involved in? Or maybe a group for comparing VUS in the non-gene patients?

Yes, we try and provide as much new research as we can during our conferences every two years, most of it is done by Dr. Cannon if you would like to read more about it. periodicparalysis.org/drcannon/

We are sorry that you are having difficulty hearing the video. You may want to try another device. The sound is playing loud from the actual media site. As for captions, we will look into that.
