And Can It Be? (Hymn 180) With Grace Community Church Congregation

Музыка

1. And can it be that I should gain
An int’rest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain?
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be
That Thou, my God, should die for me?
Refrain
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, should die for me!
2. He left His Father’s throne above,
So free, so infinite His grace;
Emptied Himself to show His love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race.
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For O my God, it found out me.
3. Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickn’ing ray,
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light.
My chains fell off, my heart was free;
I rose, went forth and followed Thee.
4. No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him is mine!
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine;
Bold I approach th’ eternal throne
And claim the crown through Christ, my own.

Hymns of Grace exists to assist believers in their corporate and private worship of God. It is our mission to provide resources that focus on God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as revealed in the Word of God. To that end we seek to produce musical material that focuses on God, His Word and the Gospel story, melding beautiful melodies with eternal truth.

    Bring it on brothers. We are divided as Catholics and Protestants. Meanwhile Jesus Christ is blasphemed by anti Christian forces. I am grieving over the blasphemy in the Olympics. Your hymns are comforting. I’m Catholic

    I think this is my favorite church hymn! I’m saved by the very much undeserved grace and mercy of God, and I can express nothing but gratitude for my salvation because I can contribute nothing to my salvation. I’m as helpless as the criminal on the cross to do anything to merit my salvation. What do I deserve? The lake of fire. What have I been given? Undeserved grace and mercy!

    A lady believer was gravely ill and told by the doctor that medical science has no more options for her. She kept praying to God and in prayers she saw a vision of a scale of prayers on one side and praise on the other. The praise side is so low. She was told to praise God. She did it for more than 2 days and was fully healed. So often we ask God for lots of things but praise Him little or while we pray for things we are doubtful of receiving. And in praise there are expressions of faith and gratitude. Look at what happened to Apostle Paul when he and another believer were praising God while clapped in stocks. May God be praised always because we love Him with all our heart, mind, and might, that we uphold all His commandments and covenants, keep all his laws and statues, and all our feelings, thoughts, words, and actions are good and right in His sight.

    May all churches praise God like this always. I am sure there will be more people coming to God and less blacksliders. Thanks to your Symphony of Psalms I now know to read the Psalms out loud then sing with the song derived from them. So great. I have since been sharing your Symphony of Psalms to many others and they found it so wonderful knowing how to praise God while facing different situations. Praising God while our souls feel disquiet, shaken, in doubt and thus find our faith strengthened and peace within restored. We learn so much because of your Symphony of Psalms and your various hymns as above. Thank you for including the psalm from which it is composed. I will call to find out if you have them in CDs to buy in order to give out as gift to fellow believers. This way there will be no interruption of advertisements while listening or following along in daily personal praise time. Thanks again for praising God so beautifully. Many blessings.

    Yes, Jesus is God and died for us. This is the great Mystery of all mysteries, that our Creator loved us enough to become the man Jesus and died for us as a man. Nothing is impossible for God. The Son of God died, but because He is God, He could not stay dead. God the Father and God the Holy Spirit raised Him to life again. He laid down His own life to take it up again. He died for you. He died for me. That’s how much He loves us. He rose to life and will raise us with Him to eternal life if we believe. How could we doubt God’s power?

    Too many churches have gone from true worship to worshiptainment with the rock bands, flashing lights and overly loud music. Churches are to set the true standard of Christ worship, not become part of the woke culture. Look at what happened with the United Methodist church just recently. Sadly, He will say to many of these adherents, “Depart from me you workers of iniquity, for I never knew you” - Matthew 7:21-23. I truly hope they see the error of their ways before then. 😢
