Ancient Metaler reacts to Ren again- The Big Push - War Pigs busking video

Музыка

Ok, time to dip my toes back into the Ren pool. By request, this is the BIG PUSH, with their War Pigs medley. Amazing mix of tunes in one hot performance. Would love to see these guys in a small venue someplace.
Amazing stuff.

The previous "song" was another mash-up of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/ Hip Hop. The one after this was "Paint it Black". Epic day in Brighton.

Great. I can't believe this is your first week as a reactor. It feels like you've never done anything differently in the last twenty years. You're the second reactor I saw that recognized crazy train in that song. The Big Push - Shoot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop is amazing.🤘

Ren is an artist of all times. I get a mix of vibes from Ren - a chameleon reminisce of the vampire character of Cassidy from the show Preacher to Nirvana's Kurt Cobain to Sex Pistols Sid Vicious to Radio Heads Tom Yorke. Creep, unworthy, rejected, useless, wrong, flawed ... on an on... All those various genres wrapped into the millennial head spaxe - drugged into a seemingly hopeless polypharmacy despair. His music and delivery punches a hole into the listeners hearts because we know and feel every word and truth he sings. Finally... finally ... truth in music.

You asked what the message song was before War Pigs, well here's the set list of that very busking concert in case you'd like to go through that entire performance. Which btw is AWESOME!!!😂😂😍😍 The Big Push "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop" (Bob/Damian Marley + Dead Prez) The Big Push - War Pigs (Black Sabbath cover) mashed up with (Rage against the Machine) The Big Push - Watch Out (live) (New song, Original Release by The Big Push) The Big Push - Paint It Black (The Rolling Stones cover) P.S Ren plays Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums and Beatboxes proficiently, Produces his own beats, Actor, Director, Storyteller, & Poet + he's self taught in all areas.🤯🤯

As a fellow ancient metaler (heavily into prog, too), I enjoyed your reaction and subbed. Paranoid was one of my first album purchases when I was in the 9th grade in 1974. A few months ago, after entering the Ren rabbit hole, I discovered this Big Push cover and was pretty impressed with how they mashed all of these great songs together, including their nod to RATM. I see that other commenters mentioned their excellent "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip-Hop" and "Paint It Black" covers from this same busking session. Definitely worth a reaction! Recently in an interview, Ren said he was on a nu-metal journey and made a reference to System of a Down in a short video, though I can't remember where I saw it.

I have fallen behind on your Ren reactions, so I am going to try and catch up. I skipped your reaction to "Suic*de;" the video was hard to watch and tore open some old wounds, and I have not been able to listen to it or watch it again, or even watch a single reaction to it since I saw the premiere. It was profoundly sad, haunting, and gutwrenching, especially the final part where I just lost it.

@@TheAncientMetaler-1963 My best friend committed suicide when I was 19 y/o. He called the evening of his suicide, but I wasn't home. That was long before cell phones came into existence. My mom told me he had called and I said I would call him the next day. Only there was no next day because he had jumped off the highrise apartment building he lived in. I always wondered if I could have reached him had I called that night, and if I could have made a difference. I will never know. I don't blame myself, but the gnawing "what-if" never goes away.
