Ancient Civilizations: The Advanced Aztec Empire | Full History Documentary

Ойын-сауық

The Aztecs: Within a very short time they created a huge empire, whose metropolis was a perfectly organized floating garden city on the Mexican plateau. At its head were kings who even sacrificed humans to the gods. This full history documentary tells the true story of the rapid rise and tragic end of a unique people.

    You said the whole story, but you start in 1519, and the Aztecs story began much earlier. This is the story of the Spanish conquest, not the Aztecs whole story or truth.

    Do you know your ancestry? Huichol or Nahua? Nahuatl was the language that was most commonly in use by many tribes and spoken too in Tenochtitlan. A lot of current "Spanish" words are from Nahuatl, like chocolate. There were hundreds of different tribes in Mesoamerica and I wish we could do DNA to check for the different tribes.

    @@pres5049 Well... you can base your judgements on what “sounds more reasonable“ to you, or you can research and rely on known facts about human physiology and motivations, elite runners’ speed over relatively short distances, the topology of the region, and mesoamerican road and relay networks. The fact that your “reasoning”... assumes they were LITERALLY running through a “highly dense rainforest” (i.e. the vegetation itself!?. ...much of the Aztec empire was not rainforest, and they had a well-maintained road system)... and... “poissonuss crawlers”... and concludes with the ludicrously (LOL!) low number of 50km per day...? (Not to mention the assertion that it would be “impossible” on a flat surface!) As I said, very difficult, HIGHLY unlikely that it was ever achieved in those real world conditions, but not “impossible”. (And certainly not WILDLY overstated, as you seem to assume.) Misinformation. The Spanish derived from the roman empire. An empire that brutally conquered most of Europe, Asia and parts of Africa. The Aztec empire was 80,000 Square feet while the roman empire was 5 million Square feet. The Spanish also were at war with the Dutch as Spain invaded the Netherlands and the dutch fought heavily for freedom. The dutch were master craftsman that had trade with China, Japan, India and Africa. The dutch mastered metal work, weapons, ship building, and had girls and boys educated. The Spanish were fighting to keep control of the dutch which is why they only sent 500 men. On 22 August 1567, Fernando Álvarez de Toledo, 3rd Duke of Alba, marched into Brussels at the head of 10,000 troops. This is not ignoring the long standing wars between Spanish and the English. As king Henry killed his first wife a Spanish princess. The vast amount of wars the Spanish were involved in during this time meant volunteers went to the Americas not well trained soldiers. Currently the dutch, the English and the French were at war against the Spanish, the Russians, Polish and the slovic countries were holding back the ottoman empire thst was taking many European countries. That's literally why the trade between Asia and Europe stopped, the ottoman empire was taking over Asia and pushing into Europe. The slavic people were being enslaved. Slave, slav. It's called that because the slavic Slave trade lasted 1500 years. Hungary, Romania, Kosova, Morocco and turkey were all European countries. The ottoman empire took over Egypt and slaughtered the original people. It was all out war all over the globe and the Americas was a last ditch effort to gain the upper hand. Also, no one ever said the Aztec were faster than horses. Cortez literally said that they messages were delivered by runner and they could run 260 miles in a day. A great feat for one so small. The Aztec were average 5'2. It would be insane to assume they ran faster than horses.

    You must remember that the Codex Mendoza was written in 1541, 18 years after the conquest. With writing in Spanish and Latin. The blood thirsty Aztecs got what they deserved, maybe this documentary should have been called: "New World Nazis"

    As much as this documentary tries to praise this primitive barbariac culture of the Aztecs, it’s important to remember that they were still conquered by a mighty arm of Christendom, Spain.

  • @mjz16

    @mjz16

    2 күн бұрын

    Exactly. This is not the entire history. They came from Aztlan but no one knows where Aztlan was. Somewhere in the North. The Mexica said they traveled for hundreds of years and at some point were in underground caves. They split off into different groups. I think five groups but I'm not sure if I'm remembering that number right. Each group went in different directions, led by a leader who was like a medicine man or elder. The Mexica that arrived in Mesoamerica were just one of those groups. Some words from tribes in North America are exactly the same as those from Mesoamerica. I'm sure there's a connection.

    History shows that all cultures which practiced child and human sacrifice were destroyed. Killing the innocent, either before or after birth, ends in destruction. Attempting to make one’s self or one’s culture powerful through tyranny has the opposite effect. All people….Take notice.
