I know far more people worship gods than science, and they also forget that humans have dogmas and biases. Hence why they can believe an imaginary figure is actually real: because somebody else said it was true.

Atlantis was an age of highly advanced civilization or a great city at the center of civilization at one time. I don’t think anyone knows the exact location but the civilization could have went as far as Antarctica. I don’t think it’s ridiculous as they make it sound

It is as ridiculous as they make it sound because there is just no evidence for it, as much as I would like for it to be true. For example, we can see with our own eyes, that the Romans and Greeks influenced the Ancient Egyptians at certain periods and that they influence the Romans and Greeks, the ruins are available and there is literature to back it up as well as objects in the archaeological record. So it's safe to say those civilizations interacted with one another. We can find objects in one of those locations that may be from the other, confirming that trade went back and forth between those places, and we can read about people from each visiting the other. If we are talking about the literal translation of Atlantis, that would assume at least 10,000 yrs ago for this supposed global civilization, yet we find no evidence of this anywhere. And to claim it has all been destroyed or deteriorated wouldn't conform with the claims of the Sphinx being just as old, as that would no longer be visible either. We don't find Egyptian influence in the America's or the Pacific, and we don't find any evidence of influence in the opposite directions. So until actual evidence is found, it is as ridiculous as it sounds.

In order for Antarctica to be "green and lush" before a so called, pole shift, the north pole would have to have shifted across the lower Northern hemisphere ( Europe, Asia, the Mediterranean), which means any civilization flourishing in the area, at the time, would have been in an ice age, and we know from Plato's perspective, that was not the case.

Plato only spoke of the sinking of Atlantis, not a pole shift or anything else. The pole shift and other ideas of based on the Hapgood theory of crustal displacement. This implies that during a pole shift the Earth slows down, stops rotating and that the crust slips on the core, and the poles change location. There is evidence that suggests that the North pole was once in Norway, Hudson's Bay and the Bering Sea (not in the order) before it current location. It's been suggested that the "misalignment" of some Ancient sites and pyramid complexes reflects that. And the Aztec legends speak of various ages of the sun and the sun stopping and restarting, which supports that idea.

@@harrietharlow9929 Likely earlier than that. The Peri Reis map of 1513, and some other ancient maps based on much earlier ones show the coastal outlines of the Antartica which should be in theory impossible unless it was ice-free.

I think as the ice melts more because of climatic change one day we will be amazed, i also believe an advanced civilization use to live there .

Hey, Ancient Aliens season 14, episode 1 really shook my faith in the show. They had a person claiming to be a former Navy SEAL with knowledge of the alien base beneath Antarctica. He’s a fraud. How do I know this? He starts by introducing himself and explains his rank at the time was “Fist Lieutenant Commander” - no such rank in the US armed forces...period. I thought they were better at getting claims than this

There are many unknowns with Antarctica. Most obvious is the fact there are ancient maps of the place before it was even officially discovered. There is a no fly zone there and there was also a huge American naval operation there shortly after WWII. there must be something there ….who knows what but it is a highly secretive place.

Supposedly thought of by a scientist that the pyramids were generating electric stations, to charge up their ships. That is, back whe there was water there. The whole set up was like a generator. @@ryanbarneson555 I would warn against using speculation and guesses to determine what's true about reality, simply because we know our intuition can be easily mistaken. Skepticism is the best tool we have so far for discovering what we know. Honestly, everything you mentioned in your original comment sounds like they're on the same tier with stories about Bigfoots and Santa Claus. The DNA history maps I've seen actually don't look at all like what you described. Instead, they show that humans originated in Africa/modern Middle East and spread outwards in all directions from there. And to say that god directly intervened in human history is even more unlikely.

@@ryanbarneson555 If you're passively reading textbooks/holybooks/any books and accepting everything they say as truth, then I'm sorry but you've been doing school all wrong ahaha And maybe the right answer is actually unattainable, so we just do our best to estimate it. That seems to be the case we find ourselves in far more often. The correct answer for many questions we have throughout human history will continue to be "I don't know."

Love the show but, Let’s change the name of the show to What if...what if u guys actually had some proof or evidence that any of this happened.

The experts in this video assume that because Plato wrote about the lost continent in two of his dialogues, there is enough evidence to believe a civilization came from space and established its presence in Antarctica. Using Occam’s Razor, we can examine this claim. We know that many stories and information can get altered and lost as it is passed down through many generations. By the time this information came to Plato, the Egyptians informed him that Atlantis existed 9000 years before. The chance of the story of Atlantis being changed and possibly made up as time went on is very high. Examining the evidence they had, there are a lot of assumptions surrounding it. The big assumption they made was using Plato’s dialogues as evidence that Atlantis was an Extraterrestrial colony in Antarctica. Later in the video, they use the demographic of Antarctica to back up their claims. They mention that due to Antarctica being isolated and uninhabited it would be a perfect place for aliens. The two more logical reasons for these claims are as follows. Platos information he acquired has changed over time, and because Antarctica is uninhabited and in a remote location does not necessarily mean that there are aliens under the ice.

It’s about like expecting there to literally be a cave where people look at shadows or a ring that turns people invisible. Plato made things up sometimes.

There is evidence of younger dryas & cataclysmic flood. We have undecoded DNA which does not belong to earth. So atlantis seemsctrue.

The eye of the Sahara in west Africa is most likely the location of Atlantis. Bright Insight page if y'all want to see it. Most compelling evidence if seen, very similar to the description Plato wrote about

I remember when the History Channel used to be about history.

Probably the biggest reach I’ve seen yet from this channel... Should really look into the possibility of Atlantis being in Africa, more specifically the eye of the Sahara.. there are a large amount of studies supporting that the eye of the Sahara is actually the remnants of Atlantis, and using the very same notes from Plato and evaluating the area around the structure as well as making use of google map you can see all measurements etc line up, you can also see very clearly that a massive wave once swept across the land. KZreadr bright insight actual covers this very well.

The problem is that Plato was clear that the location was past the pillars of Hercules (Gibraltar), which clearly puts it in the Atlantic Ocean.

This show reaches all over the place. They start with a couple facts (or in this case, ancient texts) and then out of left field, they make bold, conspiracy theory claims... this is from the History Channel? ....

No, Atlantis is not located in Antarctica, It’s located in the Sahara desert in a place called the Eye of africa. It used to be a tropical climate but due to polar shifts it’s now a desert.
