Bravissimo!! Thank you, your presentation is so well done and so moving that I actually began to shed tears!!!! I’m a second generation Italian-American: My maternal & paternal grandparents all came to the US between 1892 to 1906. (from small villages /towns in Campania) Paternal side from Trentola-Ducente in Caserta , Maternal side from Scafati. which is only ~8 miles from Mt.Vesuvius ! That’s mind blowing (no pun intended) However, when I did my Ancestry results they came back as follows: 97% Italian* but the truly hilarious fact is that it specifies that my “genetic community” is in SICILY!! Which is sooo funny !! My entire life I was told that I am Napolitana” and the dialect my grandparents, uncles, aunts & parents spoke as well as their accents are all undeniably what’s heard across Campania! Only another Italian would understand the subtle hilarity of your entire family being from Campania (I’ve even traced them going 4 generations back!) but then learning that your DNA says that you’re Sicilian!! 😆 (I wish my grandparents were still alive so I could tell them this!) Thank you again, Maddalena (“Maddie” for the sake of my non Italian friends and in-laws)

Also doesn't it show a reference list for ethnic regions? How similar is this to ancestry?

Genographic test your X and Y chromosomes and they can tell u the path your ancestors took to get to where they ended up ..if your a female you would have to get a male relative to test the Y Chromosome ...they do give you some sort of reference to compare to other regions..its on there website ...ancestry is different bc they basically test your entire DNA
