Anbernic is going to doing whatever they can for sales. Even using software without permission. Sadly, I do watch other KZreadrs who review the usb sticks and android boxes and China has already included TMNTSR in some builds. They know they can hook casual sales by including recent games.

I would love to just get a clean OS download from Anbernic.

One of the retro handheld companies, I think it was Anbernic - but don't quote me, is now shipping Kioxia TF cards in their devices. Kioxia is the new name for Toshiba Memory after Toshiba got broken up like General Electric. Assuming they're not counterfeit (who counterfeits Kioxia?) they're actually very good cards. Toshiba was the inventor of flash memory, IIRC.

I honestly didn't consider that Anberniuc may not take any of the flak for including ports of the games on thier devices. it is really sad to think that portmaster may possibly take the fall for this. That would put them in a really bad light with their customers though. Really bad move on their part all around.

The video dropped faster than the Portmaster communities announcement.

The problem is the community has encourgaed anbernic to put those ports on the H, and by that I dont mean the youtubers but the 1000s of users that want the loaded SD cards. Luckily I don't think theres much anyone can do to portmaster because they're not providing any game files or making any money off of it.

Retroid doesn’t include roms in China either. I live over here and got one directly from the company. No roms or any funny business

I was just about to release a hard video on Anbernic before I read that they actually didn't include Stardew Valley and GTA 3 after all. Good. The last thing we need is for Nintendo to have another counter-argument in court to align game preservation as just another subset of piracy. Great (and informative) video as always, Joey!

Just FYI of all those games mentioned in the description under Anbernic video, GTA3 and Stardew Valley are Not part of the image file of the 1.14 update. But yea TMNT and the old celest are there. 😅

Are they mentioning the games as "they are included" or as "you can play them on this device" (as in: the device is capable of .... ). Because that would be a big difference, actually making everything completely legal for those games at least.

The best modern Steam controller might be the Open Source Alpakka controller.

Well said Joey. Anbernic's being doing great lately, but including these still sold games is a case of one step forward, two steps back.

I'm not a Steam user, but it's also GOG's summer sale. Probably Epic too. I'm probably going to get Psychonauts 2. It's the cheapest I've ever seen it, and been meaning to play it. The open world Crazy Taxi looks like great fun.

I buy GoG first.. I really hope the EU vs Valve (Steam) results in competing platforms being admitted to get lower prices. I probably should not have, but bought project zomboid on Steam, since they are slow to update gog and easier mod install management. I ever get a steam deck, in going to feel the hit when it comes to getting my games installed. I wish GoG would support Deck I don't install epic. I'm sad they snatched rocket league and stuffed the new race inside their big fps.

Love the video. I understand and agree with the Anbernic comments but I really love their devices so if I can only get them with a card, I'll take it and just use my own card in it. I order directly from Anbernic all the time and have terrific luck with them and the devices. Loving the RG Cube.

I don't, wanna send a battery, port, transistors, solder gun and solder to fix my first emu handheld?, the Anbernic failure. Getting an Anbernic device is a pita. Aliexpress shipping time was decent. First console Battery, port death in a few days, so my rg35xxh does not play and still don't have a refund two months out. Friends got RGSP for me Amazon RGC linked sale. Third color choice left and they wasted an entire month only to say sorry, can't get units. BS more like sold off hot item at mark up. So far GoGameGeek, cheaper, fastest yet, my chosen of the 4 colors. Arrives from China today or tmr. I am not out of the woods. I was lucky my first one died so fast, in a way. After purchase, just read someone's sp battery died 3 weeks in, yikes. I'm going to basically be praying for the life of the device for that battery to live. If this one fails F it, I'm not touching another effen Anbernic until they fix this . I'm now finding out this Anbernic issue had gone in multiple units. I wish cube lightbleed was all I had to worry about. I want this sh-t to reduce stress, not increase it. I don't have enough money to be gambling on handhelds.

The dream is to get a 4in, 4:3 (or 3:2) ratio screen that is 720p. Basically the 405m screen at 720p. I think 16:9 screens are kinda dumb for most of these handhelds except your Odins and things like that.

Steam Summer Sale - Maniac. £3 (under $4), only 30% off but its a silly rogue lite in the style of GTA1&2. For that kind of money if it gives you an hours worth of fun it's paid for itself.

I haven't played many video games in the last few years, but I heard good things about Hades, so I got that.

It's not pirated copies. Its more similar to decompilations, where you need the original game files. It's actually the exact same thing as gta3 ported to 3ds

My Retroid Pocket 2 came loaded up with games this was a few years ago and I haven't bought any more devices from them in awhile they could have changed since then but that was my experience also that Powkiddy device looks kinda cool I dig these mini and at 35 bucks it sounds tempting lol god help me I don't need another device it would be number 14 in 4 years in the hobby haha.

I ended up getting a couple of horror games. My most pleasant ones are World of Horror and Inscryption.

My opinion is dont pirate Indie Games if you have the Money. AAA Games I can See why people do this but I am still dont sure what i think about this.

I agree that Anbernic shouldn't have included those games in their image files, but as a community interested in retro gaming, we should be careful about being hypocritical when it comes to piracy. Do I own the originals of all the roms in my collection? Of course, and neither does anyone else, except for a few outliers. If people want to throw mud when it comes to piracy, make sure that mud doesn't stick to yourself first.

Originally, before I got one I was all give me no card. I do like there being a card flashed with stock os to verify unit function. Downloading the firmware from their website to flash your own card, should not include any 🤬 ROMs. Completely unnecessary additional data making the process take unnecessary time and forcing illegal activity I don't need to do. Or at least offer me a no ROM download. One functioning example ROM per system would not be so bad. I can see that as a proactive example to help when doing something wrong with your own ROMs. A sort of example guide on How to properly copy over your ROMs. An included good stock os card is better than having to troubleshoot your flash, sd card on top of the the new handheld.

I bought left 4 dead and the sequel for less than $10 which is great!

Any small handheld with oled recommendation please? I like my Miyoo Mini Plus except it only has IPS and plays up to PS1 well and I wanna play PS2 and Gamecube (but more demanding games like F-Zero GX) Ps. actual portable like 3DS or PSP I dont wanna carry around a brick like Steam Deck, reason why I never used my Switch

I got the anbernick RG cube and have been playing f0 wind waker and armored core for the PS2 😊 I love it when people act surprised when a company that makes emulators does some shady shit. 😂 All the companies are horrible just keep your head above water

Anberlik are pissing on their own carpet... I can't understand how they can be fairly good with the hardware part of the devices and miss so much on the software side. They sell pirated stuff that will eventually lead to consequences, unfortunately not for them. They make their software pretty bad and don't open it for the community because they are afraid of other cloning their devices, which is pretty ironic considering the previous statement... I really hope companies don't go after the devs of portmaster. It would be a real shame if we loose something this good because of something this stupid.

As an emulator fan myself everything I own is fucking pirated😂😂 as far as I'm concerned anbernic is just doing the legwork for me. The number of people in this community they're playing ports of their own games and nothing else is incredibly small. And Celeste has been on every emulator I've bought for the past 3 years. Along with Celeste classic.

There’s also the fact most retro handhelds are next to worthless without any preloaded games. The only consoles that can pull that off nowadays r FPGA ones because of how impressive the tech is. Why should I get an anbernic rg cube with no games when I could literally just get a shell and install some emulators, this would be the exact same thing? Sorry bud, not everyone wants to sell their soul for super Mario Bros the lost levels, or go rom hunting.
