I purchased this and watched it last week. Really got a lot out of this film and the bluray itself was very good as well.

So obviously the film wants to make the point that without all the information we jump to conclusions without evidence. In that vein is almost sacrilege to speculate on the whodunnit. But then where's the fun in that? I havent looked online for fan theories because its still too new in mind and i dont want to taint my brain as i marinate this film in my mind but after 2 viewing this is my proposal: The dog did it. Inadvertently of course. Suicide seems silly given how he fell. In either scenario it just seems far fetched. Its a terrible plan the throw yourself from a 2nd story. Its not likely to work. And he fell from lower and hit the outcropping then thats the most 4D chess suicied of all time. Same is true if it were a planned suicide to look like murder. Thats Brainiac level calculations of geometry. I find it implausible. The wife i dont think could have lifted him from the angle in question.

So now to the dog. The opening shot is of the dog playing with the ball. Chasing it down the stairs. The son is drawing the dog a bath at the time. Allof this is shown to us. Why? Its deliberate. Everything about this film is. So why? Why later do we see how the boy plays fetch with the dog in the woods? For juxtaposition. The boy wasnt playing fetch with the dog. He was drawing him a bath. So who was? The father. And at some point he stopped. The dog had to put the ball somewhere... Fun thing about balls: they roll. So if he slipped on the ball it wouldnt necessarily be around after the fact. Removing itself from the scene. Moreover we see the dog freely enter the home while they investigate and we see the dog had a bond with the father when the body is found. All this screams opportunity. And finally the film ends with snoop and the mother snuggled together. The film starts with snoop. The film ends with snoop. Snoop did it.
