This whole album is just breathtakingly beautiful. I'm another one who saw them for the first time supporting Opeth and it was one of the best gigs I've been to in a long time. They were both awesome, each in their own way - not everything in life is a competition.

probably the most under rated british band, absolute brilliant live and i can't wait to buy this new album and see them on tour again.

Listen Anathema since Judgement came out in 2000. I've seen them 10 times since then!! They made me feel more my humanity and passions. I never expected this HUGE phenomenal comeback !!! KUDOS to Anathema

My favorite current bands and artists are Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Devin Townsend, Anathema, Katatonia, The Mars Volta, maudlin of the Well/Kayo dot, Ayreon, Agalloch, ISIS, GYBE.......others. They are all great to me. It's not about who is greater than who...All these bands have moved and inspired me. We live in such a great era of music, that the amount of gems out there is vast and endless. I'm in Anathema season currently though :)

We're Here Because We're Here is a great great album. I purchased it recently, while looking for a new band to get into, and because I am already a huge Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson fan, and he produced it. It's a great disc, and I got hooked on Anathema.

i thank the Di-Vine 4 this gift of art, it´s amazing, anathema have accompanied me since "serenades" & after all these years and so many meaningful songs, they come up with this masterpiece and it´s just perfectly reflecting my own situation...i am amazed...thanx 2 u 4 sharing, thanx 2 anathema 4 finding their way and thanx 2 the Di-Vine 4 making it all possible :-) love=peace=bliss=flowing

3/4 and 6/4 are essentially the same thing, so you're right either way. I'd preferably consider it 3/4, but it would sound identical as 6/4 :)

@mitashkimitko I'm fan of them since 1996 and... I don't know, I grew up with their sensitiveness but I guess now this is their road. Life goes on... The songs are not bad at all.. just miss this athmosphere that only Anathema can provide, for all you that know them well you know what i mean. Well... Enjoy the songs and respect their choice. Anathema kind of lost me after Judgement but this track definitely makes me want to get on board.

@hask2112 A Fine Day to Exit is, in my opinion Anathemas best album. Its a tie really with Were Here.... and A Fine Day to Exit. Its like the Old Testament and New Testament. Both are wonderful albums

@EvilMambo its not about being older ...its about the style...anathema is good on expressing our feelings , just like someone is talking to you or reading your mind...and thats is with porcupine tree too...but coldplay is different and i think it is not possible to compare them with anathema only in this album "we`re here bcoz we`re here" which i didnt get its meaning yet...and as a band , Coldplay are more prof. in making their music and in inspiration...so many differences...

@MolecularHeinosity Anathema was around way before both Mars Volta and Coldplay.Their earlier stuff sounds nothing like this,they use to be a doom metal band.Starting around the album Alternative 4 they changed alot. If you like this style I suggest you check out all albums after Eternity,especially Fine day to exit.But you should really listen to all of their albums.In my opinion they are the best band on the face of the earth!

@hask2112 indeed Judgement is awesome. You could also try Alternative 4. This is the best album yet in my eyes. Also Hindsight was beautiful. So much to choose from.. With Anathema you can't really go wrong. The first few albums are a completely different style though so you might want to check those out before buying ;)

@Sintranil Well I've heard few of the new songs... to be honest some I like, some not, but my feelings at all are mix and to be honest I've expected for all these years without studio album something really really powerful, something that really grab your throat and leave you breathless through the songs. I don't know really. I hope after few days I will start like the album but for now is... nothing that special as was Judgement or A Fine Day To Exit. Nothing so special to say my admiration
