Anaphylactic Shock Sent Steph to the ER | Bees Attacked... Again!
Ойын-сауық
We are interrupting our previously scheduled videos, to update our viewers on what happened on 05/17/23. This is the second attack in just a few short weeks, so unfortunately we need to take some drastic measures with this hive, and fast. We can't risk our kids or animals getting attacked.
Thank GOD for @catchinupwithkim Kim, she drove me straight to the ER for lifesaving help. Without her here, I don't know what would have happened, as our local EMS was on another call elsewhere. Please as a word of caution, if you are a beekeeper keep an epipen on hand. I never knew my reaction would be this bad after many many years of beekeeping and after many stings. This one just "hit differently."

PSA: For anyone in the US reading this, in case of allergic reaction this severe, please call 911. This is a life-threatening emergency. Emergency personnel has the means to treat with an Epi-pen on the way to the hospital. Steph’s airway could have obstructed completely on their way to the hospital. Also, if you’ve had a previous reaction, chances are the next one will be worse (as it happened to Steph). Steph, I’m glad you’re OK and I’m grateful for Kim’s quick response. Glad you’re looking into immunotherapy and re-queening the hive. Blessings!

Sometimes someone else driving is way faster than ambulance. It does really matter where you are located. My sister for example had a very similar reaction from a hornet in the middle of the night. Our Dad called country doctor cuz hospital was 40 minutes away. Doc told my Dad where to go and he made a 20 minute drive in 6 minutes!!!! Also, note to USE the EPI-PEN if have one. Fear can take over. Don't be afraid to use it. It was made to self inject or if someone else is with you even better!

Thank God and Kim that you're okay Steph. Prayers you have a swift recovery. Stay safe my friend.
I mowed over a hive that was dug into the ground. I was stung about 20 times in the back of my legs. I ended up with Cellulitis… Sending positive of thoughts and prayers ❤️🙏🏻❤️…
OMG, I was lucky, when I was young. I stepped in a mound of ground bees, in a dress. My mom took off my dress. About 100 dead bees fell out. My mom pulled out 3 stingers out of the corner of my thumb. God had been with me. So glad you are ok.
Oh my goodness Stephanie how scary! I’m so thankful Kim was home and ran to help you. Thank the Lord you are all right! Please take extreme care and stay safe. ❤️🙏
What a scary day. I'm so glad everything worked out and Stephanie is doing better. It's nice that you have a "just in case" plan in place. Thank God Kim was home and was able to get Steph to the hospital. I think it's awesome that people work with bees, they are so helpful and so needed. I could never do it. Have a blessed day!!❤❤❤
Watching this a year later. WOW this happened to my son at 18 months he was stung 20 something times, one year later he was stung 18 times. My dad had a hive that had gone wild. These bees chased us inside and just keep coming. For years we worried about him getting stung again. He was several years older when he got stung again and never had another reaction. We didn’t go ANY WHERE WITHOUT HIS PEN. He’s grown now and hasn’t ever had any other reactions. Praise the Lord
Thank God that Kim was there for you....Praise God that you are doing better Steph.....God is good ❤✝🙏
Good to see you upright I hope you feel better soon!🕯🧡💜🧡
Thank god Kim was around to help you!!!! Glad you are ok Steph!!!!
A friend of mine , son was mowing two doors down, tried to get home, had forgotten his epi pin, no one was at home, he passed away! Leaving a wife and 2 kids..It was so sad. Keep that epi pin with you at all times!! So glad you are O.K. Love you guys.
Steph and Buddy, this is so scary! When I saw Steph’s short I couldn’t believe it. So thankful you are safe. Please be extra careful, which I am sure you guys are going to take every precaution moving forward. Kim is a blessing!
Stephanie, I am so sorry you had to go through that. When I about 12 I was swarmed by a bee hive. I had over 100 stingers removed. I spent a week in the hospital. I wasn't sure that I would still have a reaction to bees, wasps, or hornets since I haven't been stung since. We were working out in the yard at our country property and I was stung by a wasp. I immediately headed towards the house, by the time I was able to get to the back deck I couldn't breathe. I had gone to my doctor the week before and he had prescribed a eppi pen for me because the closest emergency room is 15 minutes away from our rural property. They come in a twin pack and have a test pen to practice with. My youngest daughter just happened to step out the back door and realized something was wrong and immediately ran into the house to get the eppi pen. After the first injection I felt better but still wasn't feeling 100%. We had already called for a ambulance right after I took the first injection. By the time the ambulance had gotten to our house 15 minutes later I had already started having trouble breathing again. My daughter was instructed to give the second injection by the 911 operator but the ambulance had pulled up so I told her to wait to ask them. Once they were able to get a line in and give me medicine I started feeling much better. I will tell you I learned a lesson that day. I always carry my eppi pen with me even if I am just walking from the house to the car. I was also told that after giving the first injection to always go to the hospital to be monitored because once the medicine starts to wear off the symptoms can come back extremely quickly. It was extremely scary not only for myself but for my 27 year old daughter because she just walked out the back door and it's a good thing she realized what was wrong right away because I couldn't speak much less catch my breath. The other thing that you might investigate is to see if there is another hive in your tree line? It may not bee your hive that has caused this. It could be wild hive that's decided to make a home close to your two hives you have? Just a few random thoughts. We found out where the wasp nest was that I had come close too. I had to have someone come remove it because the nest was huge and was between two metal panels on one of our out buildings. I'm so glad Kim was there to get you to the hospital for treatment. Just remember that if you use your eppi pen always go to the hospital afterwards to be checked out. And always carry the eppi pen on you at all times. Thank You for the update on how you're doing. Much Love from our family to your family 💞

OMG Stephanie, I am so sorry that happened to you. I started crying when you said you were glad it didn't happen to one of the kids. Stay safe sweet lady. ❤
Good morning Stephanie and Buddy. Thank you Kim for coming to the rescue of Steph and getting her to the hospital asap. Buddy thanks for the updates on how she was doing. I am totally afraid of hearing the buzz of any winged animal. Bees, hornets, moths, I have never been stung in my life that I remember but I was invaded at a home by hornets and ever since then I don't like that sound at all. They found a nest between the outside wall and my inside bathroom wall that faced that side of the house. I had an old looked like indoor/outdoor green carpeting and after they sprayed and got rid of the nest I still had probably 300 or more hornets laying on the floor in various stages of not being alive. I moved out after that. I hope you feel better soon Stephanie and take care.
So happy that you are all better, sweet girl. My mom was highly allergic to bees. She literally almost died from a bee sting. Her body reacted so badly that she had to have her gallbladder taken out. She was in the hospital for a week. She has passed away now but I will never forget how awful that was. She started carrying an epi pen from that point on. Please, please be careful around those bees. Keeping you in my prayers.❤
Oh my Steph that’s horrible! I’m so sorry that happened to you, the sweetest kindest person , thank god for Kim 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻I’m glad you ok , stay away from those hives for awhile till you get stronger immunity
Praying for a speedy recovery ❤
Oh wow! Thank goodness you have GiGi and all other family close. I just want to give you a hug here from San Diego.
So glad to hear you will be Ok Steph, and thank goodness for Kim being there. I have a brother-in-law who became allergic after only a few stings. He ended up in the ambulance and is now a member of the epi pen carrying society. I hope you are feeling better Steph💖
So sorry Steph!! Thank God Kim was home!!!! Sending healing prayers and love for you!!! 🙏😢💜🙏
