Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not in Nigeria on behalf of the English Government or King Charles, because they are no longer Royal Workers, they stopped with Royal Duties (2020) already when Queen Elizabeth reigned. THEY may not call themselves royal highnesses either because they are not working royalty. This was a completely private tour

Let's have this clear: The no longer royals, no longer working royals, no longer representative of the British people, British Government or British King represent nothing but their stupid moronic selves. Not markled at all. Clearly, Nigeria gave a royal welcome to a royal couple who were here for a visit, one that was laudable in every sense of the word. We accorded them such great honour because they deserved it. It's that simple!

@@finesseplusenglish4325 I am sorry but having grown up in the UK that is not how a Royal couple acts. Turning away from people while they are talking and inappropriate dress? That is so disrespectful to Nigerians. Also if you remember harry has taken himself out of the royal family. He stated that finally he was out and so pleased because the whole family and institution was so toxic. He said was glad he escaped from it all but feels sorry for his Father and brother who were stuck with their roles. Even filmed himself on his freedom flight. He is no longer allowed to use the HRH titled by the late Queens orders so should never be referred to as A Royal highness. Even the high commissioner made it clear they didnt represent King or country. How much plainer can it be?

They are a religious country. Megan Markle needs to be more professional , to observe cultures, protocol of other countries and follow them. Megan Markle trashed the British culture heritage and protocol too. Hugging men you have never met is completely unacceptable, she needs to read the room better in a traditional setting. On the third of May, the US charity regulator declared Archewell Foundation as 'delinquent', banned it from soliciting or disbursing charitable funds, and told its registration may be suspended or revoked. When Harry and Meghan came to your country they knew about this situation. King Charles knows them, this is why he sent the British Governer to state the UK had nothing to do with their tour.

How can these people be so naive and out of touch. Why do they keep referring to this visit as Royal and the "latest visit of members of the Royal family". They are obviously not aware of the situation with HnM and the Btitish Royal Family even though it was made clear that they do not represent the King or the United Kingdom. It was a private visit and the HRH titles should not have been used. They seem to be blinded by the royal connection and oblivious to the true purpose of this visit which was purely for self promotion and self aggrandisement and was being filmed for Netflix in order to make money - none of which will be finding it's way to Nigeria. I wonder how the hosts felt when, hardly had HnM boarded the plane for California, the news about the Archwell Foundation being delinquent hit the headlines in America and around the world and no payments would be forthcoming.

I'm very much afraid that this is a false hope. No way would they have put their hands in their own pockets to fund this visit. Either Nigeria or Invictus (again) funded it and most probably they asked to be paid for their feeble efforts. Remember "I can't believe I'm doing this for free"? Sadly, imo, all they seem to do is take, take, take and never give anything back. I'd have liked to have been a fly on the wall of their plane, on the way back to America, and watched the masks slip and the rictus grins disappear as they dropped the role playing, kicked off their shoes and sighed with relief that it was all over and another film shoot was safely in the can.
