Many of us are or have been going through anxiety and depression, myself included. It takes a lot to admit to oneself that you have these issues. It shows strength that you can be open about this thing that many would consider mere weakness or lack of character (which is absolute bollocks). It is very admirable that you, Alex, with a big following and a platform to share your thoughts from, can come to us openly and tell us that things are difficult, since you are not really obliged to share this information with us. You didn't need to, but you chose to. And that's true strength of character IMO. From what I've gathered from your videos you are a humble, joyful, admittedly silly, respectful and great person, and I wish you all the best.

Keep strong Alex, having suffered from depression in the past, you got to focus on what you like and on the people that are close to you, that sometimes feel that they don't understand you but it will get better even when its all clouds and rain. Anxiety, well that's a different beast, I still struggle with that day to day, and 2024 isn't helping, losing my job, spending savings and trying to get back in shape, failing on all fronts, but I am trying each day, and hopefully a chance will appear. Keep at it, keep strong, we are still here!

I know it's going to sound cliché, but it really helped me, so here we go: Learn how to enjoy the good moments in life. I heard it a million times, and for a long time I didn't event realize I had a problem. I was always thinking about my worries, imaging stories or scenarios in my head, trying to empty/distract my head to numb the pain. By doing so, I missed a lot of potentially happy moments. I learned that there are times to worry, plan etc and times to just live the moment and enjoy (even if not everything is perfect). Truly enjoying good moments make enduring the hard and stressful times way more bearable. It gives your brain a vital break. Choose life!

Love ya, Alex. I can relate to the never ending tiredness. It's one of the worst things, it feels almost impossible to motivate yourself to do anything. I have to say (just a suggestion from my own experience) that throughout my childhood, even though I hated (and still do hate) socializing, the one thing that always got me moving is being in team sports. Staying active in the gym is good and all, but it's even better if you do it with a coach/teacher and teammates, even if you never get to connect to them personally. "Traditional" sports (football, rugby, tennis, etc) are a lot of fun, but might be kinda difficult to access. Martial arts are generally easier to get in to than traditional sports, yet you still stay very active and practice a lot of both physical and mental attributes (I did Karate, great for my sanity). Then again, it's just my experience. It might be helpful, though, I dunno.

Even if all the “stuff” makes life difficult just know that even if it’s a little better progress is still progress. And hey, with anemia that means you get the eat more foods to see what works (like lots of shrimp, broccoli, spinach, and beef). Tbh, anxiety sucks, no matter what. If it helps just don’t overthink stuff or get something that does distract you (gaming if it works for you but don’t make it a chore). As for the personal stuff I can only hope you take everything day by day. As for the videos, maybe try out more non-HoI IV games (or even non-paradox games), maybe a multiplayer game. I know the algorithm doesn’t help with that but you only need to get one golden video to see what sticks. Otherwise don’t push yourself too hard and I hope you feel contented Alex.

    - it is very good that you, someone who people like and see as a friendly, successful face (yes really, you have succeeded amd you may well do in future, in youtube and other things), talk about this so honestly, especially to a male audience. - it is great that you resolutely dont apologise for it, even though youre honest that you feel you need to. Youre responsible with what you say. I can see the conscious effort, possibly emphasised in therapy, to not blame yourself. Its great you perpetuate the idea that mental health problems are our responsibility but not our fault. - its also very good that you are very publicly carrying on with the very hard process of healthy decisions, counselling and health improvement. Never publicly questioning that its worth it helping yourself, and never telling people its easy or theres a miracle cure or masking it. These videos are important so thank you.

That being said, we can wait - make yourself happy first. I am a sports coach studying psychology, what you are talking about is very common with burnout Stress Depression, and anxiety. You tend to start not enjoying the things you really enjoyed first, but it's good you are noticing this as most don't. Stay safe, if the gym isn't fun go for a walk, any form of movement is good for the old noggin and don't apologise, you being healthy is more important :)

From one Alex to another. I love you bro. You keep working yourself and building the better you. The real ones will be here to support. For the case of viewership on the channel I understand where youre getting at with views. Even when you try to make something thats not hoi4 it viewership tends to be lower. I personally dont know what you can do to drive away successfully from just only doing hoi4, and to get the same viewership on other games you love or find intrest in. All i know from how this system works is to keep consistent uploads while poking your head into other games every now and then. To hopefully get people that watch for more than hoi4. KZread is a job for mental gymnastics, and it aint fun sometimes. With that being said, with possibilities of improvements on viewership i highly suggest really looking into ways of improving your work life balance. I struggled with it for 6 years and let my job take over my life without realizing it. Then flipping it the other way and having my life take over my work life. It was unhealthy. I still fumble it from time to time. But i immediately know when i start messing that up. I hope these words of encouragement help you realize youre not alone in the fights youre in. Its different but its the same overall problem of just simply being human. Stay strong. Stay fighting. We love you. ❤

You were often the channel I turned to when I went through a very dark spell a year or so a go. You and your channel helped me no end. I don't have the answer for you, but do not undervalue yourself and what you do for your followers. You'll get there mate.

Hi Alex, it's a plasure to see an update about how you feel. I just want to let you know how happy I am about the fact that you are opening with us all, letting us know that, even if it's hard, you are still fighting. You might fall in love again with YT, you might not: don't let this thing harm you. You could take a total different way and, as long as you will feel good and happy about it, it will be YOUR WAY. Don't feel any of this as a loss, even if you need to retrace your steps: you will be advancing in a different direction :D Hope to hear from you soon Dario

hey rambler, i used to watch your videos when i as younger and had more free time. Back then i knew you weren't doing great mentally, so i remind myself now and then to check up on how you're doing. devastated to know you're not doing as well as you used to be mentally. Just know that everything you're going through is natural and okay. remember to keep pushing and to know that although you may think you're not making any progress just remember that any push you make to make you're life better is worth it in the end. There are genuinely hundreds of thousands of people who you made lives better with your entertaining content. Thousands of people care about you and don't let the negative comments on social media or the ones you probably reinforce in your head let bring you down. You are a talented, charming and clearly very kind man who has just had a bad break. Remember keep pushing yourself and i can't wait to see you get better :)

Hey Alex, you're not the only one in this situation. What is really cool is that you give a lot of people 20 or 30 minutes where they can relax and chill and have a laugh for a bit as they go through the same stuff. I'm sorry this is happening to you but you are actively part of the solution for a lot of people. take care man.

Hey Alex, it's nice to see that things are a little better. I hope you can get out of this anxiety over time. Your videos are always super cool to watch and I hope you always find inspiration in these fantastic games! Also, if you are looking for new ideas, often remember to look at small mods. I saw one called "More Formable Decision" which can make good videos to have a clear and precise challenge to follow if you think to take a look. Anyways, get well soon and we love you
