    I know you are menswear, but as a fashion business + image consultant major, I really appreciate this. Your skill in color theory is immaculate. I love looking at menswear to study color and fabrics. The minimal and more boxy nature of menswear , helps you really grasp the combinations better. It's almost like a puzzle game to find as many different ensembles, as possible.

    Thank you, yes, it's quite helpful to look at colours in abstract blocks. Improves your ability to imagine how things might turn out and lets you try a lot of things quickly. Best of luck in your future career!

    Thanks for sharing these color combinations in that particular color sports jacket. I've recently picked up a sports jacket in the same color and was curious in how to pair things with it. This video has helped me vision a way to dressing it up or down from your examples shown. Thanks Mark and your crew!

    That colour and fabric reminds me of broad shouldered Hugo Boss jackets from late eighties 😜….. good old times. Interesting very interesting… bold move to use it for RTW.

    Yes, I think we're coming a little bit full circle now. Our team tends to imagine 80's and 90's Armani when we're describing these sorts of flat colours but you're right Hugo Boss did it a lot, too.

    Thanks Mark...beautiful color. Agreed with all your suggestions (as always). Perhaps the color (pants) I would try would be a stone, and / or cream color with a white polo. I'd like to know what you're wearing today. Looks like a cotton suit. Thanks.

    Mark, I recommend putting the shirt (and pants) inside the jacket altogether because that would resemble how one wears those clothes. Nobody wears them with one side in and another side out of the jacket. Similarly for pocket squares, since the jacket pocket is already there, why not place it inside to really complete the look rather than putting the whole thing on the jacket? What would be even better would be to actually put on the outfits on yourself or someone and either show a picture or a video of that so that viewers can really get the best idea(s) on how an outfit will turn out. Cheers!

    Nice suggestion, we'll see what we can do next time. It would take an impractically long time to setup every outfit like this but we could do it for a few key looks. You are right, it would be easier to visualize.

    @@markchodotcom thanks for considering the suggestion. If you know Brian from He Spoke Style, he puts together outfit videos where he actually puts them on. Yes, I do agree it will be time consuming, but on my end as a viewer, I can end up watching the same videos multiple times to appreciate and to accept and/or to even generate outfit ideas. Cheers!!

    This great, so many matches. Do you think a cream color could be paired with earthy tones? I really want to make the earthy palette work, but im afraid its going to make me look a bit older (early 30s here).

    I like the look, you just need to make sure the color temperature is consistent. It'll look off if you're pairing cool cream trouser with warm colored blazer for example.

  • @markchodotcom

    Yes, and like jz4461 says below, it's important to think about the colour temperature of all the pieces. Do they tend towards yellow or blue? It's nicer when they match. I think I understand what do you mean by creams and earth tones might make you look too old, my dad had a funny habit of always wearing almost too much cream and taupe as he got older. I think it's more interesting when there's some contrast in the colours, for instance a cream jacket with a white shirt and a brown pair of trousers.

    am i mad for thinking that jacket would pair nice with navy cords and an oatmeal sweater?

  • @gentlemenscholarsclub

    @gentlemenscholarsclub

    Color-wise that sounds good. The weight would be something to look out for IMO as this jacket reads more like spring or early autumn where as cords and a sweater seem heavier and for colder temps. Perhaps oatmeal cotton knitwear and the spring equivalent in the cords.

    @@Tailorandbarber Yes, I think it'd be great with olive though I think it should be quite a deep shade. A dusty shade might not work as well. Also, yes the shoes shown were our Jubilee derby, Duane II penny loafer and Hudson tassel loafer.
