@@ILIKEOTTERS Well we can rule out wind considering they go in multiple directions at the same time across a map, and they also could leave the path as it is shown clearly (in most maps) that the path is on the same level as the surrounding ground. The only option then would be that they are prisoners who are forced to play along, but at that point it isn't a war but a massacre and the monkeys are in breach of completely different laws, although I suppose some could still apply assuming the bloons were captured in war, like with a bloon trap for example

This means that you can add or subtract as many neutrons as you want from something without changing what it is. This does have effects on its overall stability which is why uranium is "enriched" before use in nuclear reactors or explosives. Enriched uranium has been processed to contain unnaturally high levels of Uranium-235 [The number after is # of Protons (92 for Uranium) + # of Neutrons (143 in this case)] which causes the instability needed to create a sustainable nuclear reaction. The leftover Uranium from the enrichment process is purified Uranium-238, which contains an extra 3 neutrons and makes up over 99% of the Uranium on the planet due to its relative stability. Uranium-238 emits mainly alpha radiation as it decays. Alpha radiation, to oversimplify, is the safest type of nuclear decay to experience. It is stopped reliably by human skin, so it would take quite a bit of exposure to cause health problems. Uranium-238 is also REALLY FREAKING DENSE. Over half again dense as lead to be inexact. When something is really heavy, readily available, and has limited industrial uses chances are someone will throw it at something as hard as they can to see what happens. And thus the US military was happy because it got heavier bullets and the nuclear enrichment industry was happy because their waste products were being shot en masse into the deserts of the Middle East and thus were no longer their problem. To be fair, the most likely cause of death from a DU projectile still seems to be getting shot by it. After that uranium poisoning is a bigger risk than latent radioactivity. I still wouldn't let your children play near it, though.

small battalion would be around 300 people. A sergeant commands teams of four, so shooting Them would have four people hopping out. also, commanders of battalions are usually called Lieutenant Colonel. I did research on this for writing, so I have to nerd about it a little.

7:34 only fully enlisted dart moneys are allowed on the battlefield, and are the only ones eligible to receive a boost. On certain maps, "civilian" moneys can be found by tapping on specific areas as an Easter egg. They are not forced into plasma usage.

It's one of the many times that nobody really accounts for. I don't think Glue Storm would ever be outlawed (unless the glue used would have a toxic/flammable component). You could make the case for Super Glue, as that does deal damage, but that's primarily against MOABs, and laws against vehicles are typically a lot more lenient.

@@DaveyGunface most glue is at least a little corrosive, so it would be banned, however without 2xx the glue is explicitly not corrosive. Mostly… they recently buffed the x4x and xx5 (glue storm and superglue) to deal damage, so they are indeed corrosive and therefore illegal.

Note: Brickell *almost* broke the Geneva Convention because of her new lifeguard skin, it originally had the Red Cross symbol on it, which is technically a war crime. Ninja Kiwi would have also committed this crime if they released the skin with the cross.

It would likely be military only, because you have to have a uniform to participate in active combat. Not having one would also be a war crime. Not as horrible as burning stuffs alive, but you're basically endangering all civilians by looking like them.

It can also be considered as a huge bomb of harmless glue, therefore legal. Or something shooting from space, therefore space warfare rules aply. (idK if this is legal) But most likely, it's just shooting very fast and into the sky so the PROJECTILES fall back on the ground. (somewhat long range missiles that don't explode but are made of glue) You can see this from the animation the Spike Storm Ability has, and science gluestorm is a similar ability, both abilitys are no wheathermodification. BTW I don't understand what makes wheathermodification ilegal in the first place.

When debating definition, one can definitely x-ray the deflated remains of a bloon, the real question is if they are alive. The vast majority of these things are legal only when used against material, or rather than as an anti"personnel" weapon. Additionally, with regard to the sniper's fragmenting ammunition, the law you cited applies to warheads, but small arms munitions have a separate ruleset, based on the design of the ammunition. Munitions must be built for, to heavily paraphrase, clean penetration. Similarly, they must be fully jacketed projectiles, to that end. With basic sniper monkey having to be upgraded to have FMJ ammunition, he is implied to be using soft point ammunition by default. This would indicate that he is only innocent if upgraded to have FMJ, without being given any fragmenting or other special ammunition, and is otherwise indefensible.

So, about the description for The Biggest One: "... plus powerful Burny Stuff damage." If you look closely, you'll see that "Burny Stuff" is capitalized. This means it's talking about the upgrade called Burny Stuff. The same thing happens in the description for Really Big Bombs, although to a lesser extent: "... allow Frags to pop more Bloons." It doesn't quite say Frag Bombs, but it does capitalize the word(s) to help them stand out from other terms. Upgrade descriptions describe their synergies with other upgrades like this all the time. For example, Perishing Potions: "... Also strengthens Brews and Stimulants." Obviously the Alchemist won't have strengthened Brews if you don't also have the Berserker Brew upgrade.

I have a hard time accepting Obyn Being classified a war criminal based of what you said, It seems to me the brambles can be more akin to either Constantine wire, or more likely razer wire. Which would mean its not a war crime, especially considering they are visible to the boons that actively walk (float) into it. Its not like the blood trap on the engineers, which is even called a trap.

Depleted uranium is poisonous though. “Depleted” just means it’s not capable of being used in nuclear reactions. It is still radioactive and causes environmental harm. However, like you said, it is still used by certain freedom loving countries 😎

Depleted Uranium (DU) is only slightly radioactive, but it is highly toxic producing potentially lethal tubular necrosis. Assuming depleted blutonium is similar it should be a war crime under IHL Rule 70 (superfluous injury or unnecessary suffering) and/or Rule 71 (inherently indiscriminate weapons). The U.S. consistently objects to and violates Rule 70. And of the many resolutions to specifically make using DU a war crime, only the U.S., U.K., France and Israel consistently vote against.

It's so funny watching this and then the Pokemon one and literally *hearing* this man get more jaded and done over time. Hilarious.

Oh yeah, let's not forget that the other titles like BTD Battles imply that the bloons were an engineered weapon that was used in monkey wars and then have escaped and started acting on their own (the mainline BTD games) presumably as sentient beings with a plot of revenge. Make of that what you will.

The upgrades that say "allows X to do X" sometimes refer to specific crosspaths to make those crosspaths stronger. For example if you get the really big bombs upgrade it boosts the frags upgrade if you have it.

Fun fact: Lorewise, the blooms are the baddies bc they ravaged the monkey towns and are attempting to get revenge, so yeah.

The most concerning thing about this video is that in the beginning, it is seen thath this guy has every upgrade unlocked except the M.A.D

For the shrapnel x-ray argument you can I'm fact easily x-ray a balloon as it is made out of rubber, and so it really comes down to the size of the shrapnel. We could assume that the larger towers like the bomb shooter produce large shrapnel, but the sniper most certainly does not as his rifle ammunition is specifically designed to shatter into a great number of shrapnel. In fact I might be remembering wrong, but person sized firearms like rifles and pistols and machine guns are specifically forbidden from having ammunition designed to shatter into shrapnel inside of an enemy combatant. Shotguns get around this by making the same number of holes as is the number of projectiles.

The boomerang monkey does NOT have one hand. he wears a glove with a boomerrang-launcher on top.

According to the Bloons lore the top path sub is completely harmless to the environment it is completely biodegradable

I'm wondering if they have any safety protocols when it comes to the tack shooter because apparently deploying a dart monkey next to a burning furnace or a machine firing tacks in all directions at rapid speeds is "safe" for the monkey

Very nice. So bloons artillery only when? On a more serious note, depleted bloontonium could be the equivalent of depleted uranium. Depleted uranium isn't technically a war crime yet. There isn't enough evidence to suggest one way or another, according to my limited research.

the word bloontonium deffinitely is derived from plutonium. but what is used as ammunition (for example in some US tanks) is depleted uranium. plutonium is iirc more for building bombs. i dont know either though, even while being twice as old as you XD

@@kettenschlosd Depleted uranium is leftover from making bombs, because all the radioactive stuff is takes out, so it is relatively harmless. Its heavy so it used for amor piercing rounds. Plutonium does not naturally occur, and has to be made in a nuclear facility and is complicated, and is pretty much exclusively for bombs, as any private ownership is illegal, if unlicensed.

“I don’t know if employing God is a crime against humanity” is a sentence I never thought I’d get the chance to laugh at.

technically speaking, the airburst darts of the monkey sub would considered a submunition, not shrapnel. And as much as people like to say that submunitions are war crimes and as much as they think they are, they are not. There WAS a treaty agreeing not to use submunitions, but they were not explicitly banned under international law. As for incendiary weapons, it is illegal to use them on civilians, not military targets. Considering how every red bloon costs the player one life if it gets through, it is safe to say that there are no civilian bloons entering the monkey's territory, thus making use of incendiaries fair game. In following that, seeing as the brambles are expended upon contact with an enemy, they would technically be classified as land mines or Barbed/Razor/Concertina wire, of which none are illegal. As morally wrong as landmines and submunitions are, they are not illegal to use.
