And somehow nobody here knows this 😳. It's absolutely MINDBOGGLING!

So, this orchid uses a way similar to a pitcher plant, luring in insects with its scent and dropping them in a pool of liquid to keep them from flying away. However, the orchid doesn't intend on killing the bees, but rather to force them into pollination, whereas pitcher plants use the same fluids to slowly digest their prey.

Yeah because it's been directed and the bee is CGI in many shots, this is more cinema than a documentary.

I love how Nat Geo makes these amazing videos. Narration, cinematography, everything. They're all so captivating....

How

slight correction- the flower is not pollinated by the "bee falling into the bucket". It has to go through the same steps escaping through the tunnel ,to attach the pollen sacs to the stigma.
