Did you restore the chisel as well?
Why use a spokeshave to make the chamfers on the corners? Surely a hand plane would be much better, quicker and give a straight edge. Still a nice finished item although , as previously commented by Dos.S it would have been much easier to halve the width of the initial timber and prevent all the tearing of the surface when reducing the thickness.
How do you dry wood?
Have you ever tried Rubio mono coat finish. You should maybe check it out ☺️

I don't get it! You go through a lot of trouble to split the whole board in half, and after that you just cut it in narrow peaces. Why? If you did it the other way around would be much easier. That said, great job with the box, beautiful!
