" You're in a meering and people started using their phone, its not rude its just the way we are " now I understand. last week I had my fi al interview with an Indian hiring manager, she asked me " Please walk me through with your professional background " so I started talking then she suddenly laugh and talked in her native language only to find oit she was talking to another person, when I paused she told me to continue so I did. prior to thw end of our interview she asked if I have any questions, so I asked " how are you enjoying working in XXXXX?" she then go on mute and started taking a phone call and returned to me saying "alright I think were all good now than you for your time" just because its not rude to you doesnt mean its acceptable for us.

The best you can do is to avoid doing business with or work with Indian owned businesses.

Why?

sounds like bad manners are acceptable. You can run late, you be on your phone in a meeting. How about talking over someone, is that considered ok in Indian culture? What about farting during an office meetings, is that ok too?

Ill never work again for any indian or asian company again. Yes i know...my loss. I am ok with that!!! Micromanage is an art in there business. If you need anything The Accounting dept runs the company from materials to dept raises etc. Never seen an Acct dept work like this nor have that type of authority. Have fun if u do and be looking for a job when u get 1 working for an Indian asian company...their angle on business and money is way different than western cultures. The term cheaper is better and "throw it against the wall and see if it sticks" Should be a mantra in ur head

I am sure there are very sound businessmen in India, but expect to meet a lot of very fussy and very tricky people, who may be doing weird-looking things, often due to religious principles. It might be a good idea to take some lessons in Hindu Theology before you try to work with them, religion is very important in India.
