One angle, the company making the kit had documented all changes needed, BUT before releasing it, they had a nice discussion with a lawyer. Lawyer told them that if they ship the instructions on where to cut into the chassis they were told that if anyone crashes a car modified within their instructions and gets injured, the company could be found liable for damages. So just to limit liability, they will not instruct anyone on how to cut&modify chassis or any other system. EDIT: fixed a typo Just thinking…

The Wizard busted his butt to get the car together, only for it to fail shortly after. I didn't think it was bad press for the Wizard though... he took a half-arsed conversion kit, and made it work in short order with no instructions. I am glad Hoovie bought it back, and that the Wizard agreed to work on it again... hopefully it will continue to live on.

Unfortunate that Tyler didn't mention the 2nd track day, but he probably thought it was good, because when it leaves the Car Wizard, it IS good. Blame it on the kit engineering or lack thereof. No doubt this time around he probably could track it and it will be awesome. So glad you didn't just kick him out of your shop after that blown LS. Oh I don't think the Wizard or Omega had much fault in the failure that was Apollo 911. The kit wasn't up to snuff. Had you known more about the kit OR had a little more time to measure and figure things out you might of got it right the first time, maybe you wouldn't of. Best case you could of become the expert in stuffing Chevy V8's into Porsche 911s> I don't know that that is a particular valuable skill set. I suppose you could of then , or could now do a series of KZread videos on LS swaping a 911 and even offer merchandise to facilitate others in doing so to recover some of you costs. The cardboard template for trimming the back of you 911 to gain serpentine belt clearance could be a potential best seller! The custom backwards baffle oil pan to prevent oil starvation might be a high grossing item for Omega.

I had similar experiences as an industrial maintenance supervisor. One time I was involved in replacing a steam tube dryer with a direct fired gas dryer. Our Genius Corporate Director of Engineering can't find a burner he likes for the dryer so he has one built. Prior to buying the dryer or designing the burner he comes down to our plant and spends about a week wandering around that part of the plant with one of our maintenance guys, a steel tape measure and a note pad. Six months later the dryer comes in, about a week later the burner shows up. We mate the dryer and burner and the construction foreman gets a very worried look on his face, grabs a tape measure and runs into the dryer room. Yep distance to the bottom of the roof trusses from the floor10'4", height of the dryer/burner 10'6" and we still have to insulate it. We call the Genius Engineer, his reply "well put the dryer between the trusses" but Mr. Genius Engineer the trusses run across the room, if we rotate the dryer 90 degrees to fit between the trusses neither the feed conveyor or the discharge conveyer will line up AND we'll have to move the Hydrolyzer that feeds the dryer. His answer "well then figure something out" click. Yep idiots among us. In the next job I had we had "breakaway" doors so when you hit them with the truck things pop out and some consumable parts break. Notice I said "when you hit them with a truck" instead of "If you hit them with a truck" Well after a few years of trying they find a way to hit the door that breaks stuff that shouldn't be broken. It's the middle of November in Northern Wisconsin and some folks are getting a little worried that if the door doesn't get fixed soon some things are going to get very cold, especially some things that don't do well when they get cold. A replacement door identical to what was destroyed would be 12-16 weeks (or about the time things start warming up outside). Another vendor comes in and shows me a brochure for a break away door, on the cover it shows a darn train driving through the door and the six easy steps you do to recover from oh say a train driving through your overhead door. Best part- 2-3 weeks and they can have the door in and operating. I order the darn thing. Of course operations is beating the snot out of me because it's November and the got no freaking door, environmental compliance is beating me bloody because a functioning door is part of our permit to operate. The door comes in, I'm pretty excited, they show up the next day to install it, operations bitches because the bay is down while we install the door. It's done, hurray, it works, they even give me a dam warranty card! The owner shows up, he's a little upset because the new door is orange, seems as well as being the owner he is also the corporate ascetics director, the other door was 12-16 weeks because it was beige, he really really likes beige. I calm him down, I mean it's on the back side of the plant so it's not like you can see it from the road right? And it's ORANGE like so maybe they'll SEE it it and NOT hit it right? I Jokingly I say as I leave work that night "maybe we should start a pool on how long it goes before operations messes it up". I come into work the next morning at 6AM. Yes it seems we should of started a pool and someone should of choose 8 hours and 32 minutes to kill our new train proof door. Seems if you drive a dump truck into our new $10,832 door but you leave the dump body UP you can destroy the $10,832 door and three rows of the masonry block the door was attached to. Maybe they should of made the inside orange to? Fleet did however call me to inform me not to worry as the truck was alright.

Man, I remember looking at Renegade Hybrids in the 90s when I was just a dumb kid with dreams of fast cars. Now that I'm a dumb adult, I've at least figured out that putting an LS in a Porsche is really not the good idea it seemed!
