Hello everyone! Today's video features all-Norfolk Southern action from my most recent railfanning session in Cincinnati. I got a heads-up from my friend and fellow KZreadr Cincy Railfan Productions about two Norfolk Southern Heritage Units coming north through Cincy. The two heritage units were the Southern (NS 8099) and Conrail (NS 8098).
I managed to make it down to Canal Ridge Road at the perfect time between after-work and dinner. The first two trains were both northbound manifests going up the Cincinnati Terminal Subdivision, first 174 and 122 soon after. Speaking of manifest 122, this was my first time I can recall seeing it, and was a bit of an unexpected train. No less than 20 minutes later did the best trains of the evening appeared; first 8099 leading manifest 170 up the Dayton District and 8098 trailing on 28C to Chicago. Both heritage units were in great condition, especially 8099 following its 2022 rebuild. This was my fourth time seeing the Southern Heritage Unit and a record ninth time seeing the Conrail Heritage Unit. Needless to say, the Conrail Heritage Unit is the one I have seen the most. After NS 8098 passed on through, I called it a day as I had to head off to dinner, but it was a most productive hour of railfanning down at Canal Ridge Road.
