Crusoe is the most affable baby I have ever seen. He could be screaming in frustration, get gnarly and fussy when tired or hungry like most other babies, but he seems to go with the flow and be genuinely entranced by the wonderful things he sees, hears, and touches. Fabulous.

Those monuments are very cool! I was given a carving of the famous one by someone who lived in the area. I have been on the reservation and met wonderful the Navajo people! ♥️ Your little boy is so adorable! I absolutely love his smile!! I've been binge watching your vlog for months now and finally just about got caught up to you in real time. As I was watching this episode I checked the date and realized my wife and I were traveling in our rv and were just south of you in Arizona at the Grand Canyon. We got caught up in the same snow event there that you were experiencing during this part of your journey. My wife is still kidding me that we left home to get away from the snow and then we got it anyway. Fortunately it was just a two inch coating that melted quickly, but it did add a magical view to the scenery while it lasted.

Just returned home from our trip. Our visit to Horseshoe Bend was cut short by 30mph wind gusts. Lower antelope canyon was beautiful and fifty percent of the cost to enter.

Happy Anniversary! 💒 I guess as going back to the Antarctic with Crusoe is not possible just yet, the weather did its best to bring the Antarctic to you! ❄🏔 Amazing and slightly confusing to see the snow in Monument Valley - Beautiful to look at but somehow impossible to get the thought of Western films featuring cowboys complaining they were chilly and wishing they'd put their longjohns on before trying to round up the steers! 🥶 Then the coffee-that-wasn't in the diner! You thought you were visiting Monument Valley but actually you somehow ended up in a greasy spoon in deepest, darkest Devon! 🤣 (It's O.K. I'm allowed to say that because I've lived there for decades and encountered similar service here many, many times before!) Another beautiful episode though, thank you for sharing your journeys with us all, and way to go Crusoe! x

You were braver than us we decided to not drive round Monument Valley as we thought the fee was high and also were told the road was in bad condition so we decided not to risk the hire car. This was a few years ago. Loved seeing the landscape covered in snow. Horseshoe bend is breathtaking, though a lot of people found the hike back difficult, maybe they have upgraded the path now? Or it might have been down to the inappropriate footwear some people were wearing and it was hot as we went in May/June. Antelope Canyon is amazing we did the lower canyon however you are wizzed through fairly quickly with just enough time to take some snaps. In fact we had another tour group hot on our heels as we made our way through the canyon. The were quite a few steps and narrow spaces so could be challenge with carrying Crusoe.

Sounds like a lot has been upgraded since you were there, especially horseshoe bend which has a huge new car park and gate etc, and the paths even have shaded stops along the way! Hello Newby's... another stunning video. Sorry about the rude service... some people. There is no hard and fast rule regarding tipping. If you received bad service, you just don't tip. Little man is walking... hurray. Next will be running, watch the cliff edges now. From the looks of the que, you went at the right time. I saw John back up from the rim. I expected to see John Wayne or Yul Brenner to ride up on horse back. Can't wait for next Sunday's episode. The Grand Canyon will blow your minds. No buffalo sightings yet. I would stop at a grocery store and get some Sanka (instant decaf coffee). They won't charge you for a cup of hot water. ☕ I went back and watched the video about the stowaway chicken, it's still just as funny the 2nd time around. 🐓

Another fantastic episode. Crusoe's view of the world just got taller!! Your hands are going to be even more busy now. What an added bonus with that little dusting of snow. Just right for the "effect" but not too bad you couldn't drive in it. Was it at the Goulding Resort where they wouldn't brew a pot of decaf for you? So much for customer service right? Where are you off to next?

Has Crusco never seen snow before? Much of the U.S. gets lots of it in winter. Yucky. Stay far south or get buried. That is why i moved to Florida. Enjoy. Hope you see some good stuff. So many great places to see in Summer. Hugs y'all.

I too spent the night on the floor of monument valley. In the day a large flying saucer came down to look at me. I later snuck into area 51, there was a flying in a hanger and the grey ignored me as they do to dirty people or just me.

Great to see Monument Valley covered in snow and a lovely VLOG - but please update yourself on movies, Clint Eastwood was never in a western filmed in Monument Valley (but wish he were). 🙂

Really enjoyed seeing you at monument Valley I was there many years ago I agree it's a truly amazing sight seeing Cursoe walking was great to I always happy to see where you are going to.you sure had some crazy weather there too.i am on the mend got a major medical regarding my stroke.unfortunately I also have covid at the moment not exactly been the best 6 weeks since my stroke and covid.once I am alot better I hope to go to Indonesia .and have a better life there.Take care there always so happy to see you on your worldwide journey.

Hi Lee! Great to have you join us for one of our favourite adventures. Crusoe is practically running now, you have heard of the don’t run before you can walk? Crusoe doesn’t care one little bit!! Be safe with the COVID Lee, make sure if you feel poorly poorly then you ask for help. I know men don’t often know how to do that, so make sure you do. Indonesia is just around the corner and you want to be fit and strong for that adventure. 👍🙏🇺🇸

Another beautiful mind blowing vlog, what a place, not surprised it is so valued by the Navaho. Correct me if I am wrong but did I see John stand on the edge or was it a figment of my imagination. Crusoe of course was the star of the show. Sending so much love x

Thanks for another fantastic adventure…. You are literally giving me loads of really good tips for our trip. I love the fact that we have loads of the same itinerary. ❤️ I was going to ask about the US and mask wearing - and John has kindly answered it for me. Great video & wonderful setting. Reminds me of some of the scenes from my favorite movie, The Searchers with John Wayne. The only thing missing was a a John Wayne or Clint Eastwood impression. Keep up the great work & safe travels. Amarillo by morning?

@@TheNewbys The Searchers is a John Ford directed western with an all star cast. In addition to John Wayne other stars in it were Ward Bond (from Wagon Train), Ken Curtis (Festus from Gunsmoke), & a very young Natalie Wood. If you go to Amarillo, check out Palo Duro Canyon & perhaps Adobe Walls.

As of January 2022, the Navajo Nation vaccinated 72% of the population. That compares to 62% of the general US population at the same time. I'd include the news article link, but KZread wouldn't allow my post to go through. I'm guessing you're not aware of the fact that the Navajo were ravaged by COVID. That's why they wanted people to wear masks. When I say ravaged, I mean ravaged. (I just started watching your channel a month or so ago. You're in Portugal. I'd not watched before then. I've really loved your channel. When this video popped up, I watched. I've always wanted to go to Monument Valley. I was more than a bit taken aback by the things said in this video. My hope is that you were uniformed and unaware of what had happened in the Navajo Nation. Ultimately, though, this is pretty rough.... I'd have gladly worn my mask to protect those people ... and worn it all the time and without being asked.) One more note.... It didn't say "info" over the door. It said "Administrative Office", which in the rest of the US or on the Navajo Nation doesn't mean information. Language/cultural barrier? That does mean ... administration/employees. If you went in the wrong door, without a mask when a disproportionate number of Navajo and other native peoples not only contracted the virus but died from COVID, which was widely reported here in the States throughout COVID and despite being vaccinated at high rates, I imagine she might have been upset.

Hello Shannon. We were so sad to read your message. As someone who has watched a few of our videos we would hope that you would have a good feel for the kind of people we are and know that we meant no malice, disrespect or insult. We weren’t aware of the effect of covid on the Navajo nation people, but if you watch the video you can see that our interpretation of having to wear masks is that there must have been a reason. We are of course willing to wear masks when people ask us to, but we also want to raise our children in a world where they can see a stranger smiling, know peoples faces, and are not afraid of the people around them making them sick. We hope that explains things, this is one of our favourite memories and yours is the first negative comment on this video. 🥺

Great video! Utah an interesting place, Glad to see Caruso walking....Did you go by Dugway (the new Area 51) and Skinwalker ranch?
