Biota is awesome! I do wish they would make their website easier to use. Not being able to see what is currently available just makes the site a huge time sink. Cheers, Chris

Hey, Chris, the items in each category that are in stock are pushed to the front of the page, while out of stock items are pushed to the back. That might help you know which ones are in stock or out of stock before clicking on them.

That’s all well and good saying the fish are disease free, not been exposed to any diseases infections or bacteria issues, but what happens when that fish is then put in wholesalers/shop environment or even home aquariums with fish from the wild??

Curious on the color problem but not sure if it needs to grow first.

Interesting that he failed or neglected to mention is that they are allowed to collect wild yellow tangs while the rest of us cannot all in the name of genetic diversity also the ban and the batch available to sell was just a coincidence right?! I mean u said it takes years to get it right how would u know it would be available at the right time? If it looks and walks like a duck it's not a platypus. With that being said I am grateful for their work and success but transparency needs to be readily available lol

Any company that properly applies for scientific research permits is able to collect wild yellow tang for research purposes, other companies have done this like Ecoharvest. We also were selling batches of captive-bred yellow tang for years prior to the ban. Additionally, the process of breeding tang has been heavily documented and has been published data for many years.

@feliciabiota so if I go and start up a scientific research company, I too will be allowed to collect yellow in the name of science?

@@philcavallini9657 You can reach out to the Hawaiian government for more details on what you'd need to get started. There are strict guidelines and requirements for collection of yellow tang for research purposes.
