“the culture of celebrity has become so absurd and its powering young peoples lives in an extraordinary way. Social media has taken away the concept of privacy” “I find it quite disturbing that it’s an ordinary and well documented aspiration for a young person to want to be famous” So good to hear this, sometimes I feel as if no one realises how damaging the celebrity culture is to us. Having grown up with many around me having that real 'need' to be famous, It's upsetting to see them striving for something that ultimately is not the root of their 'want'. I find it partially comes from wanting to be known, and not having that acceptance from your own peers which undoubtably will warp your perspective within this post-modern culture.
