An Epic Dorian Mode Exploration Using The John Coltrane Song 'Impressions' | Jazz Guitar Lesson

in this video, I show you how to solo over the great jazz song by John Coltrane 'Impressions.' The song is a blast to play, especially when you use the Dorian Mode in the correct manner. I show you a ton of ways to use it over this tune which will unlock a lot of soloing potential. I hope you like it!

    PS..YOU ALSO HAVE THE ABILITY/MANNER TO ENTICE GUITARISTS IN TO 'YOUR MINDSET/TECHNIQUE....A PREVIOUS EPISODE . U SAID U WISHED UD STARTED WITH THE THREE FINGER [WES THING] LEFT HAND...AS AN ELDER CLASSICAL PLAYER I GOT SO USED TO 4 FINGERS.....RECENTLY REDISCOVERED BENEFITS OF 3 FINGERS.....GRANT GREEN,WES,ETC...ITS CERTAINLY HELPFUL TO KNOW BOTH......PETER BERNSTEINS MY FAV GUITARIST/MUSICIAN....HIS TEQUNIQUE IS CLOSE TO URS..THANKS AGAIN...RICH...MY NEW HERO...IM 74 YRS OLD...LOLOL

    Thanks for watching and commenting, Jonny! I am not sure I understand what you mean exactly. Sometimes it does help your solos if you think about what a different instrument, like the sax, would play!
