Coming back, even long after the livestreams, it's still sad to know what happened. Markiplier tried to play a game that he bought with his own money. Instead he just received spoilers and was threatened because he didn't do it the fan way, and spare everyone immediately. This could've been a great series if those toxic fans just let him play the game, he could've seen how awfully he effects the monster's lives. He could've seen how awfully he did at the Judgement Hall with Sans. He could've fixed all his errors and understand how heartwarming it all is with sparing on his second run. Let this series be a reminder to people, let content creators play the games their own way. Otherwise it stops being a favourite content creator playing a video game, to them just reacting to a movie.

Neutral to true pacifist allows people to experience as much of the game as possible as fast as possible. It would be nice to see some different neutral runs, but then we'd lose out on the true pacifist stuff.

Mark, can you please, PLEASE remind your fans to not watch a full playthrough of this game if they haven't yet played it themselves? This is something Toby Fox specifically requested of Let's Players, and so far I've only seen Cryaotic actually honour that request. This game is really something special, and there is no magic quite like playing it on your own for the first time, without knowing what will happen. Toby poured so much love into this game and it deserves loving treatment. (I am not putting down anyone who genuinely can't afford it- I totally understand that! But if it's possible for you to buy it, please please do that first, because the experience is SO worth it, I promise.)

Unfortunately everything you said in the beginning of the video is exactly what people should NOT have told you before playing the game, what happens to you personally in the game is already altered because of people telling you to do specific things, and because you know all that extra information you now have been robbed of the experience of organically finding out what happens through your own personal decisions. Now you're just thinking OH I have to do this or that, because someone else told you to play a specific way. Hope your play-through is fun though!

in all honesty i spoiled a ton of stuff for myself and that's what caused me to immediately go and get the game. i'm now three playthroughs in and even with all of the spoilers the story holds up so fantastically that it didn't degrade my experience whatsoever. (it was mainly things about the fact that there is a pacifist ending, as well as what some of the final bosses are like. but luckily i never saw the neutral route final boss until i encountered it. I know Mark'll probably either restart for pacifist before he beats neutral, or beat neutral then go all the way back and power through a pacifist neutral off camera to get true pacifist.The main thing that sucks about him killing the dummy is that now he is permanently barred from befriending one of the best friend characters in game because of it. at least until he restarts. unless he already did later on in the episode and i haven't gotten to that part

I feel so bad for Mark, watching this after the LIVE series. being commanded what to do by everyone when he first started playing this... Looking at how excited he is here is almost heartbreaking compared to his reactions and engagement in the livestreams. I dont know if its just me, but there's an aching feeling... a feeling, knowing that he could have enjoyed this game so much more.

They’re right. I didn’t know much going into the game, and it would’ve felt much worse to me if I knew the things I now know. For example, when I reached the end of the neutral run, and Sans told me what EXP and LOVE meant, I felt bad because I had a high LV (something like 11 or 12?) This is if I forget the plot points being spoiled.

"This is rapidly becoming one of the most popular games in recent years" this video was uploaded half a month after the game came out

The fans ruined the game by revealing the fact that you can take different paths. You're SUPPOSED to play however you see fit, and realize your consequences later, be surprised, and restart. Even MENTIONING the fact that you can spare everything is a spoiler that ruins the whole feel of the game. I played this game without any information because somebody wouldn't quit bugging me about it. They wouldn't tell me what it was about, though. Eventually, I gave in, played the game, and loved it, because I didn't know about the tolls my actions would take.

well you se a mercy/run option instantly means there are multiple paths since you do not have to fight everything you encounter. And also the game moves you to pasifist first enemy unless you land a perfect blow it survives and flees second enemy is a whimson the yellow name makes you curios to try not fighting and all acts exept check makes it run away. After that you find the frog room. You will obviusly talk to the frogs as it is an rpg. The third frog mentions yellow name=mercy and also says to spare some peapole even if they do not have a yellow name. And you grow so atatched to toriel that you will reset after killing her. After that flowey tells you about the fact that you killed her so you know about the resetting memmory thing. After that you meet sans and papyrus and the jokes make you want to spare them then you realise yhat every one is only killing you becuse they think you are evil and that they are actualy nice so you want to spare them.

It’s crazy how Undertale is a game all about making your own decisions, and yet the fandom seems to be the complete opposite of that mentality.

Are you sure? Cause' I'm 1/2 Irish and I've heard many Irish accents (just look at JackSepticEye), and the accent Mark uses there definitely doesn't sound Irish in any way; sounded more like a mild Russian or Swedish accent to me.

I like how mark's so merciful. even in other games. And even if he's in a game where he has no choice, he still says sorry.

From the interpretation Mark did of Toriel I thought about this: Toriel: do not worry, my child Froggit: your child murdered all my family Toriel (voiced by Mark): the baby isn't mine

I'm kind of glad Mark decided to stream the game with Tyler and the group because it feels more fun seeing them experience it together like that. There's a few games out there that probably fit into that kind of a playthrough, with long videos and a comfy studio space, etc.

Undertale, the game that lets people play like a Canadian! Be polite to all the things!

The people who attacked markiplier for playing how he wants too its honestly dumb, killing the puppet doesn't do anything to the pacifist because you don't gain exp for it, as long as you don't gain exp. It will not affect your pacifist run im pretty sure, however for a true pacifist ending im pretty sure you can't kill anyone even if you dont gain exp. Again i think idk please correct me if im wrong
