Ren has NO useless words. Every syllable is intentional. "Hi Ren" and "The Tale of Jenny & Screech (full)" have zero fat.

You are a lovely young lady and I know people appreciate you. Ren is truly a master artist. Not even middle aged and has more talent than most superstars. He is a storyteller, a poet, a rapper, but most importantly, a true bard in every sense of the term. He expresses people, not just music, and every single piece he has made, whether busking or recorded, is absolutely brilliant. You will not be disappointed, but absolutely, make sure that your followers know who this man is and shout him out. He deserves everything positive in the world for gifting us with his true genius. Much love. Cheers.

I have watched so many Hi Ren reaction videos. Your layout is by far the best. Most have them huge with the video in a small window, others have them tiny and the video large. You have it just right. I agree with others that you should rewind a tad between pauses. I really like how you open up - remember its your reaction we are all really looking for. Most people doing reactions forget this. We just want your feelings and thoughts. We all can (and in this case did) watch the video ourselves. He poured his heart - we like it when you do the same. Thanks from making this and the hug at the end.

Thank you, your feedback is really insightful. I did wonder whether having the ‘blank spaces’ (the bits either side of the music video) was a hindrance, but at the same time It’s difficult to change video aspect ratios. Thank you for commenting, really do appreciate this. My pacing, and rewinding etc hopefully will improve week by week 💜💜

One of the best reactions to this video I've seen. Becky truly understood and appreciated Ren's video. It moves me too. It starts with a man slumped-over in a wheel chair. In the end he stops fighting the forces that control him,. He stands-up and dances with them.

Ouch. Stepped on one of the most effective lines in the song. Painful to see. When you pause, maybe rewind a few seconds so you don't miss anything? Keeps the groove going better as well. ❤ Edit to add: "you gotta kill you if you wanna kill me"

I was very interested in how you would react to this masterpiece. I've been following you for a while, and I think you are wise beyond your years. I was very impressed by how quickly you "shifted gears" from the 'normal' reaction mode into seriously listening and FEELING this amazing performance. At the end, your well wishes to all were very sincere and heartfelt... you're good people! One constructive criticism, meant in the most supportive and helpful way... PLEASE pause before you speak over the performance. Brief oohs, or wows are one thing. Speaking really impacts us on THIS side of the screen. If you pause, rewind at least 5 seconds to replay and allow the 'flow' to restart. Just my opinion, but I think someone else mentioned it also. You are great, and I am a very happy subscriber!!

my connection to this song is only the similarity of struggle,, i'm undiagnosed autistic and have struggled with being a bit weird my whole life i had to start my own business because i had problems holding a job with sleep disorders and high ethics.. but managed to stay in business the last 40 years without needing to advertise or even carry a card, i run a lawn and tree service, a 1st responder thru 40 years of hurricanes in fla ,and do all phases of construction and kind of an inventor on the side, after six years of development i figured out a disaster response product that could help millions worldwide .. then my insurance agent forgot to post a payment back in 2020 and the state took everything i worked the last 40 years for away .. stuck at home like a prisoner i came online and saw people helping others so i started making videos explaining what i was. trying to do to get help, and found out if the platform your uploading to doesn't promote you your just talking to your phone, and then i see stuff like this and get jealous because i will never write a song that gets peoples attn like this. so my chances of bringing my ideas to the world are fading. and it's scary as hell to think of all that could be, but it may all be lost because one person forgot to hit enter on there keyboard.. and my chances of succeeding alone are close to those of getting out of quicksand alone..

Welcome to the RENaissance. I do hope you look into more of Ren's work. He's got years worth of material, and it's all good and it's all different. This track is semi-autobiographical, and if you'd like more of that, then check out Sick Boi. It goes a lot harder than Hi Ren. If you'd like to be taken on another emotional journey, then definitely pull up The Tale of Jenny & Screech. Originally released as 3 videos, he's collected the trilogy into a Full video. If you're interested in wordplay and would like to check out his rap skills, The Hunger is my all time favorite of his, but Losing It and What You Want are also right up there. There are no misses in his history.

As others have mentioned (and it's only constructive criticism), rewind 10 seconds after a pause to make sure you capture every lyric. Unfortunately you paused on quite an impactful one. Also, turn your mic volume down just a little and the video you're watching, turn it up a little. Also sending a big hug because I feel that everyone who watches this video could do with a big hug at the end. I recommend you to watch "Chalk Outlines" by Ren and Chinchilla. 🤗

This was a great reaction. Don't listen to the idiots. The suggestion of going back 5 seconds after a pause is a valid one on any reaction though. Also, having the lyrics in front of you is a good idea too I think, but definitely not a must. Ren is a phenomenal artist with a pretty extensive, amazing, and diverse back catalog that is well worth checking out.

i think he is one of the most brilliant minds i have ever seen in our modern era. His ability to translate the that eternal inner struggle of the human psyche no matter the severity , so that people from all walks of life can relate is unmatched. To me, this is not a song. It is a genius level piece of art. Poetry, understanding of emotion, musical and lyrical prowess is above and beyond. Watching it back again you find new details that you might have missed before. The amount of complexity that hides behind the surface is insane.

Go research Ren! He was misdiagnosed and treated with drugs that were for something else! He was finally diagnosed properly but his body and mind suffered from years of not getting treatment for what he has,! Lyme Disease! He is in Canada as we speak having more treatments! He has many many songs, all different genres! He is a lyrical genius and a musical genius and a master story teller!

Ren is an absolutely stunning performance artist and everything he does is intended to be a part of the story, including the beginning part which you chose to cut out. That, with your stepping on a critical point in his performance, was not so good. I would suggest that when you stop to comment you go back 5 or 8 seconds so you and your audience will not miss things.

Hi - Yes, agree. This is a comment suggestion by a few, so thank you about rewinding. I have learnt loads since posting my first ever video 5 days ago. As a reactor it is very difficult to know when I will stop and what I will stop on because I don’t know what’s coming, so the rewinding will help ☺️ I needed to cut the very beginning because I had loud banging in my house otherwise I would have kept it in. 💜

Youch double pause on one of the most impactful lines! Rewind a bit is standard reaction policy after pausing. Not much, even 3-5 seconds.

It's probably unfair, but I feel uneasy about reactors who can watch 'Hi Ren' or 'Chalk outlines' without showing any sort of emotion. If'n y'all can't be moved by what it means to be human, are y'all on the right planet? I'm guessing you passed the 'human test', eh?

Beautiful reaction. The Ren "crowd" is like a cult ... ignore the haters ... Ren is from Brighton, UK. here is some backstory: "Ren had a contract with Sony Records but fell ill and lost his contract with Sony. He was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis. It would take SEVEN years before a doctor in Belgium correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is currently in Canada for more treatments, including surgeries, and will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023)"

Awful what Ren went through, but I am so glad he is getting the help he needs currently! I understand such a strong backing behind him now. Hope life is treating you well, and thank you again 💜
