@@ThePakistanExperience Files for property = property ownership documents for a future property : sorta like stock market certificates for a SPAC I guess. This podcast and analysis is extremely interesting for Indians because it talks about all the hundreds of small policy decisions that our politicians and bureaucracy has gotten right over the decades which we tend to ignore. e.g. focus on tech and education, dismantling feudalism, building vertical cities w/public transport, investing into rail transport rather than highways for goods movement, attempts to move up the manufacturing value chain, taxing oil and building metro rail, early investments into renewables and EV, taking on only rupee denominated debt. Our policymakers get a lot of things right over the years but only their mistakes tend to get highlighted in the discourse over here.

I agree with Shahzad that it is not a binary per say, the binary is perhaps more prominent in forced or bonded labor, the issue is that the state has to come with with parameters and regulations into what jobs are suitable for children of a schooling age, 12-18. Like Ammar said children used to be exploited for coal mining but that analogy does not apply to 16 year old interns or apprentices who are learning a skill, the truth is that people need a way to make money, kids in my class used to do newspaper runs and baby sitting as early as forth grade but they were well paid for that time and it was never more than 2-3 hours a day and all still attended school and would help out their families. The economic challenges faced by people should not minimized the answer probably lies in a mixed system where children in Pakistan who work are registered well compensated and register tax payers so their rights are protected. With respect to the exponential population growth and rising inflation there is no way for the state to completely fill in the economic strain felt by the most marginalized.

Energy costs can lower production costs and living costs. Ultimately drives up wealth creation. Roads and infrastructure help in the long run, but PK is competing against bankruptcy. PK can go bankrupt long before the completion of those infrastructures. Lowering the fuel cost is the best way to spend money during a period of production shortage.

*Fact to know of Pakistan: Champion of FATF 'STILL ON GREY LIST TILL OCT 2022'* Pakistan lost $ 45 Bn till today. *The removal of Pakistan from the Grey List of FATF is not like for another six months at least.* The lifting grey list is not likely to make any real change for Pakistan. Even if it is taken off the Grey List, the benefits to Pakistan will be minimal. Pakistan, rich in natural resources, and manpower is in a dire economic state today. On the brink of bankruptcy. The major reasons for Pakistani economic plights today are its attitude towards commerce and monetary policies. Pakistan slipped into ‘Aam danni Attanni, Karcha Rupiah’ mode in the early sixties, from the the time of Ayub Khan. It has preferred to waste money on non productive expenditures, and futile adventurism. Its short sighted generals and politicians were foolish enough to be dragged into unnecessary wars, and creating terrorist outfits for and on behalf of its military the USA. Money poured in by USA was actually a narcotic, slow poison. It lulled Pakistan into a sense of false belief on its importance, and worse, the need to balance its income and expenses. It assumed that money would come pouring in forever. And that there is no need to pay back any loans from IMF, China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, World Bank, etc. This attitude that world owes Pakistan a free ride still exists in Pakistan. So long as Pakistan continues to spend more than what it can afford to, it will continue in this situation only. Pakistani Army is an albatross around its neck. It is the real ruler of Pakistan and consumes major part of its resources. Like all armies it is un productive. Not to forget, nearly 50% of its national income goes in debt servicing, leaving little for the people of Pakistan. Politican uncertainty has bedevilled Pakistan since 1960s. It continues to this day. There is no leader in sight strong enough to change course. Sad, but true the lifting grey list is not likely to make any real change for Pakistan. *From USA FATF fact check.*

I am against child labour but I am in favour of child training. Help poor kids learn new marketable skills so that they can earn money later in their life. These kids cannot afford regular schooling, neither are their parents educated enough to teach them. They need proper grooming and guidance. Otherwise, they will become criminals.

@@abhaypatel4292 well that's the problem with capitalist economy. Even if these kids qualify from school, can they get admission in the university? You and I both know what's the future of a matric pass. Unless govt provides them proper institutions and care centers, we as a society should do something for them.

I am sorry but on the issue of Child Labour, The so called 'Legend' Ammar Khan seems to be so clueless. There are laws in Europe and the West against Child Labour in Dangerous Work Situations and that is strictly prohibited like Coal Mine, Factories etc. This is not applicable on Child above 14 working in a Restaurants or Non Dangerous work environment. When even experts of Pakistan are so clueless, God Save the Country!
