Those concepts are very well presented and help a lot to understand the different methods of training in regard to specific objectives

In darts it's often touted that we need to do the exact same thing every single time you throw the dart, simply pivoting at the hips to account for changes in target position on the board. It makes sense on the surface but practically it's limited in it's application. In terms of ballistics, if you throw with the exact same force, movement of the arm etc. and simply pivot at the hip to adjust for height changes in the target, there is a set position that will achieve the desired outcome. The problem lies in that we are not robots and everything changes - even at the highest level where variability is at it's lowest. The question becomes do we strive to get as close to the robotic motion as we can, or do we accept we may need to adapt our technique when things are not going well? Commentators often say something like if you let go of the dart late, which would lead to the dart landing lower than intended, you try and compensate by using more shoulder in the throw, giving the dart more power to compensate for the lower initial trajectory and hopefully hitting the target. When players do this, the outcome is often not what was intended and the whole movement is seen as a bad thing, but this video's concept suggests this is actually a good thing. There's a player called Dave Chisnall who's throw is rarely the same each time, yet he's managed to perform at the highest level of the sport. His compensatory movements are seen as scruffy, poor form and should not be replicated. Perhaps though it's in that adaptability that he gets his success from. Maybe the reason players struggle is they think they need the perfect throw when in reality they need to be able to adapt their technique to any situation.
