So, do you just let it drop to the bottom and then steady retrieve it all the way back? I've NEVER had any luck on a worm, but it's obviously working for you!

I was letting it fall in between 5-10 seconds then tightened my line and steadily popped it while slowly retrieving back with some pauses so it could fall back down slowly
