An Axe To Grind: Fixing a damaged axe blade without power tools
Ойын-сауық
Title says it all! I'm fixing an axe for my friends who graciously lent their axe to a neighbor, and that neighbor had decimated the edge because they didn't realize there was a nail (maybe a few nails?) in the post or stump they were chopping into.
Elbow grease and a hand file get the job done!
Thanks for watching and who knows what the next videos will be. Forgotten knives, new axes, hammers, animation, stop motion animation, stop motion animation rigging. Shifting all the way to a gundam based channel alienating as many people as possible in the process!?! Who knows! But it will definitely be crafting of some kind in some way. Thanks for hangin out, have a good one.

Thank you! And I am glad :)
Looks Great, Thx for sharing... I'm refinishing an old craftsman head I found with a broken handle, lots of fun.
If you have a few, good, sharp, high quality hand files, you don't really need a grinder, or belt sander to shape, and sharpen an axe. It's all too easy to slip up and take off a little more material than you had planned too when using grinders and belt sanders. Also, it's easy to get complacent with a grinder, and over heat the axe head, in turn, ruining the steels tempering.
Yea definitely do not hammer with an axe, opens up your eye
Funny enough my first ax fixing video.

Oh damn, I am honored ^__^
3 hours before I watched this, I was filing the edge of a dull hatchet. I just looked up how to file sharpen a hatchet. Found this video.

Awesome! I hope it was helpful :)
The eye is fine because the poll *hasn't* been used as a hammer.
Does an axe blade break if it lands from on top of asphalt

Since it isn’t overly hardened it may dull it but it shouldn’t break or crack.
