I'm thinking of going for a holiday in Oban and this video is perfect to help me decide whether I want to stay there, and whereabouts in Oban to look for a place to stay. Thanks 👍🏻

I have a job interview scheduled for the microbiologist position, and I must say, the prospect of visiting Oban has me quite intrigued. Being an introvert, I appreciate the charm of quieter towns like Oban.

McCaig’s Tower is a prominent landmark in the resort town of Oban in Argyll on Scotland’s west coast. Built in 1897 by local banker John Stuart McCaig, the aim of the tower was to provide work for local stonemasons and a lasting monument to the McCaig family. The climb from the town centre to McCaig's Tower is well worth the effort when faced with the spectacular views across Oban Bay to the Atlantic Islands. The gardens inside the tower are well maintained and are a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of town life in Oban.

I never heard about Oban before...until last Saturday. On our way to the Mull of Kintyre, near Tarbert, I destroyed a tire of the rental car. Those f****** narrow scottish roads... 2 hours later we've been towed for about 90min. to the next available tire shop, which was in Oban. So we had about an hour to discover the city and it was quite a surprise! Lovely city. After 1 T-Shirt and 1 Polo and several fridge magnets we went back to the Kwik company. And on our way, we learrned a new english word which, I guess, isn't in any dictionary: "Haberdashery". It's on that shop at 13:01min into the video, but not to see here. OK, Oban was a nice surprise!
