    I saw her in a sleazy Greenwich Village bar (on the second floor, at that) where they had to convince us to go upstairs to see her act. That was 60 some years ago...and I still remember her joke about how it hurts to have a child. She said that she screamed and screamed and everybody in the neighborhood heard her...and that was just during conception.

    Im reading a biography about her now and apparently she got a lot of flack early on for delivering her jokes to fast which is so strange to me when I think her fast paced delivery is part of what makes her performance work

    Her irreverent sense of humor is priceless. She's so brilliant it wouldn't be possible to get offended by her jokes -- even though she's taken on some taboo subjects. Best comedian of our time.

    Ms. Rivers' brain was a spit fire. She was in the UK & adapted her act to accommodate plus the V sign. She adapted to each English speaking country & never missed a beat.

    Ms. Rivers was dynamite. Vastly superior to so many other stand ups. Clever, clever, clever. I truly miss her. She'd be 90 this year amazingly. She never lost her quick wit.

    HM Queen Joan Rivers. She’s the OG of female comedians. I’ve never seen this one from the 80s. I laughed so had and loved every minute of it. Thank you for sharing this. Ms Rivers made the world a joyful one. ❤️

    @@markylon She went in to those butchers for an endoscopy, which is not plastic surgery. They couldn't resist goofing around, taking selfies, whatever. Melissa got a very big settlement, but the medical office never admitted wrongdoing. I hope they had to shut down, but I don't know about it.

    @@michdoug1 bc some people look for ways to feel offended these days and cancel anyone they disagree with, which makes comedians afraid to say what they really want to say. Look up Lisa Lampanelli from 10-15 years ago and the stuff she said was hilarious but would never fly these days.

    This was before Edgar killed himself, and Joan was still in a good frame of mind. His death greatly impacted her and her comedy. R.I.P. Joan!

    @@ayoayo7730 Edgar was her prominent husband (I believe he was a psychologist) who suffered from depression for many years. He ultimately killed himself.

    @@larrypatterson5363 He wasn't a psychologist, he was a German-born British film and television producer. After Joan left Carson to start her own late night show at FOX with Edgar as the Executive Producer, it failed and he killed himself from guilt.
