I'd say attunement proved itself in less than ideal circumstances. One can only hope the locals took notice as well of what happened, not just the horses. :)

Well done. It looks they are acting very "predatory" towards the horses. I always found that to be a difficult way to do things. Of course, I came up with trainers in the Dorrance lineage. That bay you saddled looks like a really nice working horse! I like that chunky body style. What is that breed (not quarter horse I imagine).

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the standard stock horse in Argentina is the Criollo. They are great stock horses, very athletic.

Hi. I bought Straight Egyptian fillies, full sisters 10 days ago, 2 and 3 years old, completely unhandled, not halter broken. They're inseparable, always lived in the same stall but have very distinct characters. My question is: Should I train them together as I've started doing since I got them, to reduce separation anxiety issues, or should I train them separately? Ps. I'm greener than they are in terms of training/ handling horses. Tks Ashraf

Old Gaucho culture around horses used to be a powerhouse but has since become outdated with the knowledge we have now. We as a country adore horses, it’s even illegal to eat them based purely on principle (slaughter for exportation is another matter, sadly), but some still uphold an outdated version of what loving an animal means, which is based in utilitarianism and dominance. Please don’t think that’s how all Argentinians manage their horses, there are several groups dedicated to stopping barbaric practices with horses like jineteadas and these fear-based approaches, and I think if more young people here dedicate themselves to the craft and can show there’s a better way, even the traditional men will become more flexible.
